Absolutely stellar experience at Tavern on 28! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and cozy. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us through a culinary journey that left us wanting more. Beautifully renovated space and the menu choices are great! The scallop dish was beautifully plated and delicious, the rice bowls were wonderful and highly recommend the bread pudding for dessert We were in the back of the main area, so it was hard to see what else was going on, but it sounded like there might have been live music and a fireplace around the corner.

First time at Tavern on 28. I was immediately impressed by the decor. It is nicely decorated, open, bright space. It has a bar with outside and inside dining. There online (QR code) drink menu does not work well. I needed to ask for the wifi code and when I get it to load, I was unable to find the menu. I had to ask for the hard copy menu. Unfortunately, both beers me and my friend requested were "out of stock." The menu is limited in a good way and we tried their meatballs (recommend). I went for a grain bowl and it was a good bowl. The staff was friendly (maybe no need to touch base more than once to see how things are). At the end, I elected to get a cappuccino but was given a latte. At the end of meal a latte is a bit much.

Picked up late lunch at this spot. Good size parking lot. There was only a handful of people in there at the time 3pm weekday. It was relatively quiet inside. Looks like a good spot to dine in maybe in the future. For food, we got the Turkey club and acai bowl. Turkey club was as good as people say. Turkey was not dry. Sourdough was toasted and not soggy. At first, I thought 3 breads in the sandwich was too much bread but it turns out just right. Comes with cranberry mayo, slice of cheddar cheese, tomato slice, and apple wood smoked bacon. Ratios are good. This is a good Turkey club. I recommend. Acai bowl wasn't bad neither. I got it with almond butter, blueberries, and strawberries. 3 toppings comes with the cost and you pay extra for additional toppings. What we had was good enough for me. I recommend this as well. Hope that helps.

We’ve been here twice now on Sundays. Long time residents and I’m glad this establishment finally found itself. It’s a beautiful spot, fun and casual. Unfortunately it’s the staff is a little too casual and need direction. The place was quiet both times and seemly well staffed with very nice young adults who need adult supervision as the service is painfully slow food and drinks are delicious but the service really kills it.The process here is broken. The kids more or less vanish after taking your order. Both times it took 35 minutes for a Bloody Mary , a few coffees and juice. There was no one staffing the bar, food took 30min after that, no chance for another drink on both occasions. Again the place was quiet. They have a new full bar and they are wasting it while giving their patrons a painfully long experience. We’ve had water with detergent in it. They ran out of coffee mugs so we couldn’t get coffee, ran out of menus. Some kids juice glasses were huge while others were water glasses. It just seems like no one is in charge and things get done when someone remembers to do it. You don’t see the staff running back and forth, you see them standing idle, checking themselves out or they hide in the back. It’s kinda weird as the food has fairly high standard. They are good kids but they clearly don’t get it, need better training, or need a supervisor keeping them on task.I’ll take this down in a few weeks, as I just want them to be aware of the issue

We had dinner here. The food was horrible. The scallops were inedible. The food was greasy, salty, completely unhealthy! The staff was working hard but things were disorganized making the service not satisfactory.

After hearing so many great things about your establishment, we decided to go there for our girls brunch - no one was disappointed and everyone said they would be back. This made me so happy because at Christmas time, i came up to get my son a GC and left my phone behind. Your crew was honest and tried to get in touch with me. I went back for it and vowed to come back myself and tell as many people about your integrity - I'll be back as will 6 of my friends!

Jocelyn was lovely, seated promptly. Drinks took a bit but my blackberry mule was tasty, app came quickly, food took > 35 min we waited. It arrived cold. The short rib was tasty by the surface dry/cold as it had been evidently sitting out, it was also over salted. Fettuccine was tough to eat, the sauce was aggressive and bitterly sour, had not been simmered enough or prepared correctly, was doused in salt, making it difficult to tolerate, lips and mouth burning. The pasta was cooked ok. The Valentine's Day menu was confusing because it did not specify that it was a pre fixe menu, nor were there any prices on it, so we were disheartened to learn that we couldn't order certain things off of it. we asked our server if we could simply just order the meal off of it that appealed to us greatly, and she said no. I find that strange, and not to make any sense as it is being prepared in the kitchen anyway. There were also a number of grammatical and spelling errors on the Valentine's Day menu. I heard other patrons asking about it, and it sounds like the wait staff had a difficult time explaining to them how it worked, and patrons continued to ask if they could simply order individual items off of it, being told no. All in all it was not a terrible experience, but the vibe is such that a little work needs to be done, the waitstaff seems quite young, it appears that they are perhaps new at this, and I'm assuming there's an understaffing issue. I hope that chefs and kitchen staff can fix how the Pomodoro sauce is done and pay a little more attention to ingredients, heating, timing, etc. Thank you everyone for your work.

I wanted to give them a higher rating. This could be my new brunch spot. The food is outstanding and I want them to succeed, but a little time, money, and focus on service is needed. To be fair, the servers appear young, inexperienced, and spread too thin. This I put on management. I hope that they are willing to invest more in the staff. To me, that will make or break them. Food: love their brunch Eggs Benedict, done right with real Hollandaise. at their Valentines Day dinner, the arancini and the beet salad were fantastic. Service: Unfortunately the Valentines day dinner was a flop. We were there for 2 hours - even after asking for dessert to go. Our server appeared to be doubling as the bartender and he left us unattended for 20 - 30 minute stretched. The courses were out of order and bunched together. For the main course, my wife's cod was cold. My steak was salted to death, I had to leave 2/3rds on the plate. The desserts were OK at best. A few things added insult to injury. several people rotated in and out around us. The owner even sat down to schmooze with the people behind us - and felt no need to attend to us as our waiter apologized over and over to us and his other tables. The last question on this review asks "Would you recommend Tavern on 28 to a friend?" I would say not yet. But I hope to in the future.

My dish, the southwest bowl, was excellent. The chicken was perfect and everything was well portioned. The dressing was great and all came together well. There was one burger on the menu that they did not seem to know how to cook, however. My husband asked for medium and got rare; blood poured out with the first bite. Then when he sent it back they clearly just microwaved the whole plate and then gave it back to him. He was very disappointed.Vegetarian options: Bowls with meat add insDietary restrictions: Dairy and gluten free

Great place. Food amazing. Good pour on wine. Just needs some funky club like music playing louder to give it a lively vibe or better - acoustic guitar player - live music.

Easy location to get to. Beautiful space that is warm and inviting. Nice bar area. Waitress was very attentive and made good recommendations. Drinks were well made, (espresso martini)not too weak/strong. We started with arancini app which was a pleasant surprise. The burger was great! Salmon with spaghetti squash was good not great; however, I would order again. Ended the night with bourbon bread pudding. It was warm and flavorful. Only thing it was lacking was a bourbon glaze sauce that would have pushed it over the top. Overall, a great experience and really good food. I would recommend Tavern on 28 ten times out of ten over the food at Autograph in Andover.
