“My husband and I came here on a date night and we loved it! The ambiance is cozy and the waitress we had was very polite and accommodating, even though we came on a night with bad weather. I got the queen of hearts cocktail which was quite good. We also got the hummus as an appetizer which was super tasty. For mains, we got the chicken kabob plate and Atlantic grilled salmon. They were both great, but the salmon was amazing! For dessert we had the baklava and we both thought it was the best baklava we’ve ever had. We will definitely be back and recommend to others!”

“Myself and two friends were watching & photographing trains at the Ballardvale MBTA station on Saturday 3/23/24. a Very nasty, rainy day. We decided we were getting hungry and, and noticed a pizza shop across the tracks. None of us really wanted pizza, but we headed that way anyway. As we got closer we saw the sign for LULU's LUNCHBOX next to the pizza shop, and decided to check it out. Best decision ever!!!. I had never even heard of a Shawarma before, but they offered both beef & chicken. A Shawarma is very much like a wrap sandwich, but huge. The young girl in the shop told us that everything was made fresh daily, and this was evident as she cooked the beef & chicken fresh for us. I got the Beef Shawarma, and I have to say, it was absolutely delicious. Both of my companions got the Chicken shawarma, and it theirs looked just as good. The Lunchbox is small with one table, and extremely clean & friendly. I finished my shawarma, and even though I was full, my taste buds wanted more. I regret not ordering one to go for dinner. “The vibe here is great, we love to go down Friday or Sunday night and sit at the bar. Always busy, get there by five if you want a seat. Tom makes the best drinks, martinis are fabulous, and he makes a mean Manhattan. Tap beer is ice-cold, salt and jalapeño pepper wings, and the maki are our favorites.”

“Great coffee shop, antique feeling but well equipped with a good breakfast and later brunch/lunch menu. Seasonal selections are awesome as well. I've always gotten the Ham and Cheese croissants, flakey puffy croissants with perfectly tasting and paired ham slices and cheese, and all the muffins are fresh and topped with sugar or crumbles. Coffee menu is standard but more than enough for me, without the California nouvelle experiments. I love soups and have tried their tomato, creamy and like my homemade, but it was refrigerated and had to be microwaved to reheat. Not bad but mine wasn't as steaming hot as I like from a fresh pot. It's busy most mornings, but tables and window seats open up quickly. Parking is easy and plentiful.”

“I normally don't order soupy food because of the drama. However, I was impressed with Akita Ramen's packaging. One bowl, soup at bottom separated from ramen and toppings at the top. Once you're ready to eat, add ramen/toppings to soup and enjoy. Food is great too.”

“My wife and I were visiting the area from Florida and stopped @ Palmers for lunch and met Toni serving at the bar. She was exceptionally attentive and made great recommendations for lunch. The food was great so we came back for dinner! We ate at the bar again and there was great live music and the bartender Russ was excellent. We had a terrific evening. Although not crowded we had a blast with the locals. The food was again exceptional. We had the Limoncello Haddock which was perfect. They also had our favorite Pinot Noir… Meiomi on the list. The naan is always buttery and pillowy soft. The butter chicken is delicious. The chicken tandoori is unbelievably moist. The thought of their meat samosas is making my mouth water as I type this.”

The Chicken Piccatta was delicious, as were the Steak Frites. The portion size is unbelievable, so make sure you're up for leftovers!
