“For a quick late lunch, I stopped by Shanghai Fresh on a Thursday afternoon. The place was relatively empty so I received seating immediately.
I ordered the 雪菜肉丝炒年糕 Stir Fried Rice Cake with Pork & Mustard Greens ($17.95). It wasn't too oily, and had extra strong wok hei / 鍋氣. That puts it above the random neighborhood Chinese restaurant's version. That said, the portion size was probably halved.
The interior seemed well put together. The bronzed teapot looked a lot better than the beat up stainless steel sort. The complimentary salt and pepper peanuts cemented the details.
Personally, I would like a larger portion size, but I think the price point and offering caters to a more modern sensibility.“

“I’ve ordered the Hot Spicy Diced Chicken from this place so many times, and I occasionally dine in as well. It’s honestly the best version of this dish I’ve ever had.
The flavors are perfectly balanced — spicy, numbing, and deeply savory. The chicken stays crispy while being tender inside, and every piece is coated with seasoning in just the right way.
The quality is consistently excellent, no matter when I order. This place has become my go-to spot whenever I crave hot spicy Chinese chicken. Highly recommend!“

“Wanted to try their lunch specials. The portions were very large and reasonably priced. You get only white rice and soup with your Entree. Portions are big enough to share. Big choice of classic Chinese food. You would need to order appetizers extra if you want it. Fried rice is on the dinner menu, but lunch is only white rice. Dinner portions are large enough to share. Next time we will order one dinner entree, one order fried rice or lo-mein, and one appetizer about the same price as 2 lunches.“
