Shanghai Fresh Reviews
I love Shanghainese food! So hard to find so many authentic dishes. I came around noon today 6/1 only to find a sign that said it was closed temporarily until further notice. Sigh. Hope it opens soon. Let us know if we can do anything to help.
Such a lovely spot in central! The food was amazing and you can’t beat the complementary tea! Great experience!
Highly recommend the cucumber salad and shrimp fried noodles!
Appetizers and food were great. Tea was complimentary. Service was friendly and efficient. Walked away satisfied and full.

Shanghai Fresh offers a delightful mix of Chinese dishes, with the soup dumplings, duck noodles, and beef noodles receiving particular praise. The quality can sometimes vary, but the boiled Szechuan fish fillets and garlic bok choy are recommended. Many customers find the soup dumplings to be nice and fat, with a fresh and starchy skin that indicates they are handmade. The double cooked pork is noted for its flavorful, spicy, and salty goodness. The fried rice stands out for its shape and textural balance, featuring peas, cube ham, onion, and a crispy mixture of seaweed and dry pork floss.
On weekends, guests can enjoy youtiao with soy milk, which is a rare find. The restaurant has a lovely decor, showcasing authentic colors, materials, and art. The staff is friendly and the service is often described as wonderful, with waitstaff noted for being calm and kind. While some dishes like the duck may be a little dry and the dry mixed noodles less favored, overall, Shanghai Fresh is celebrated for its authentic flavors and quick takeout options, including wonton soup and wintermelon soup.
