we enjoyed our meal here. a very generous piece of steak--which unfortunately had to be sent back initially (i had specifically asked for "very rare," and what i got was medium-to-well. i almost never send back food, but gray meat is not something i want to eat). nevertheless, the second try came back rare(ish), and the salad was quite good. We arrived and were seated in a timely manner. The entire evening was lovely however my only complaint is that the starter and entree both arrived within 2 minutes of each other. Thankfully the starters were cold so we could eat the entree first and then the starter. I was disappointed that the server provided no other option. Nor an apology.
Well...the Pillow Café was better than our past experiences, but that was a very low bar. It's very convenient, of course, to be able to dine on the grounds, and the ambiance in the tent is lovely. Our server was very pleasant and competent, though her young helpers made it seem like your neighbors' slightly untamed kids were delivering your food, sauntering around after requested plates and forks, etc. (Managers...a little training, please!)
