Would give zero stars if it was possible

Had the most friendly waitress back in February before COVID. My last words were hope to see you again as my buddy and I left. Then COVID, now no idea how to find her... if you see this, let me know!

I had a steak at the Flat Penny on a Tuesday night. Most often, I'd expect the last of the week's food or canned vegetables. Not the case here. The sirloin was aged and cooked perfect and the asparagus was fresh. Very affordable as well.

stopped for lunch fish and chips and a coke 22$ whaaaaaaat? 3 dollar tip 25 bucks for fish and chips yes it was good but not a large portion by any means too pricey for me i wont stop for lunch again but hey theres not much around so why not gouge youre customers

We had really enjoyed going, but have since stopped with the change to the new owners. Granted, they did some nice work to the restaurant with expanding the bar, but now it feels more like they're trying to make the restaurant something it's not - taking away some of the charm the restaurant had before. The food after the change, it's rather meh or just gross. The new staff (now that almost everyone that had been there is gone somehow), is disorganized, doesn't know what they're doing, and doesn't do well keeping in communication with the kitchen. We used to go once a week for dinner or lunch, and sometimes even if the food is 'meh' at a restaurant we'd often continue going to a place for the nice staff; here, we've stayed away and will continue to. Very sad because this really had been one of our favorite places.

I'm not one to leave reviews of restaurants I didn't enjoy, but I felt it was necessary for this location. My date of visit was 10/22/19, I was performing for wedding a few hours after my meal. My friend and I looked for a place to eat beforehand and noticed that your establishment had an overall 4 star rating. Going in on the notion that the food was worthy of 4 stars, my friend and I were looking forward to our meal.

My friend and I, Michael Dan went to Flat Penny over a month ago. We started with Tater Skins. Super yummy!, like the host that seated us. Michael was mad because of the attention given to me by that cutie and a month later is still mad so he stuck it to the restaurant. The only rodeo on that Tuesday night was Michaels performance at the wedding which never happened. He was so disheveled and jealous we were ask to leave. So we went back to the flat penny to have a few more ice cold beers and be amazed by the very attentive staff. Cheers Flat Penny. Keep it Rockin'. Go back to the school of rock Michael Dan

We have tried to go here on two separate Thursdays at 6pm in the last month, only to pull up to empty parking lot and lights off. Phone number gives busy signal. There have been a couple of times that we did eat here though. Food is OK. Service (bartenders) are all over the place. Constantly forgetting things, preoccupied on their phones,and overall slow to give attention to customers. The decent beer selection, tvs with sports on and general lack of options in the area for those two things were the reasons why we continued to return but yeah... Not worth rolling the dice again to see if they decided to open the doors that day.

I'm not sure why a place like this would need four different types of every kind of vodka but they have them. They also have a ton of wine to select from which seems unnecessary. With the amount of traffic that drives by this restaurant each night all they need to have is good food and decent service, but while the food is above average, the service is just consistently terrible. Of the times I've been here the staff has outnumbered the patrons a few times but that seems to just make servers less attentive. Few tips for management: Watch your TVs, and I don't mean stand around and watch them but make sure they aren't tuned into the gospel channel, nobody wants that You don't need thirty types of vodka and twelve bottles of wine - especially when you have top shelf whiskey or spirits sitting behind bottom shelf bottles, behind glassware Find like one decent bartender and have that one train the hell out of the the other ones. I had a woman that I think was the owner's wife serve me and I swear it seemed as though she'd never stepped foot in a restaurant before Lastly, you can probably ditch the white tablecloths, I think you know it's not that nice of a place so why are you bothering acting like it is? The food is good here and it's a nice place!! I don't get how the service is so bad but they have so much staff on. Good luck! I hope it improves.

Been to the Flat Penny again in early October. Haven't been there in years. Great under the new ownership. Unfortunately, the previous owner made big mistakes and caused new owners to close the restaurant for the last month because of some town regulatory snaffoo. I just heard today they are re-opening and have made more improvements. Confused by Chris S review of six days ago because the restaurant has been closed. Joan and Steven the owners are gracious and the ultimate professionals. Cannot wait to be back in your impeccable company. I encourage everyone to visit this welcoming gem in the quaint town of Berlin.

Very nice local pub. Menu had some of the best haddock I have tasted. Staff was inviting and the owner went out of her way to make us feel at home. Joan thank you for your kindness. We will all be back.

This place is so unorganized. Management sits in the bar drinking. Was there on an evening when management was so unprofessional. I believe Joan was her name, but wow the mouth on her. The food was ok, the drama there will keep me away for good.

Stopped in for a quick dinner. We have not been here in years. The food was great. Staff was very friendly and service was good. We will be back.

We waited 45 minutes to get cold food and half of it missing. Owner was pounding down wine and bickering with the wait staff, while the other owner was drinking beer and arguing with the cook. Never again. This was our second attempt. Can we say bar rescue?? They need serious help. Don’t bother.
