Had the most amazing birthday at 1928!! The food was excellent and the service was great! Beautiful interior and great vibes. Everyone was so happy! Thank you!
The food and service was excellent. Espresso martinis the best we had while in town. Not to take away from the excellent experience but the hostess was very unfriendly.
Delicious, absolutely recommend! We had the steak frites and the chicken. Both were cooked to absolute perfection! I had a glass of Prosecco (heavy pour) & my husband had the delicious 1928 cocktail. Loved walking through Beacon Hill to get here as well. Recommend!
Our waiter, Sara, obviously knew the menu inside and out, and guided us well. My “wet “ martini was perfect. Since it was our anniversary the kitchen graced us with some free apps-all the food was very good! A memorable evening-thank you so much.
FOOD WAS SO GOOD! Good martini too. Very cool vibe in a good location - best vibe in beacon hill for sure. It was a great birthday dinner spot
This is such a special place. I dined with a couple girlfriends and we stayed later to grab drinks at the bar — both experiences, from the food and service to the ambiance and decor — made for the perfect night to catch up with old friends.
Overall a great experience. This was for our 20th Wedding Anniversary dinner- which I did enter in when I made the reservation- so would have expected something done by the restaurant. A quieter table, a congrats, anything really but nothing was said or done the whole night which was a little disappointing. Otherwise drinks and apps were good, service was nice overall and mains were great. We both had a hard time deciding between several items on the menu for each course except dessert options fell flat and we chose to not have anything. Will def be back.
The night started off nicely. Waiter was great and food was good. But the back part of the main restaurant has the worst acoustics. Once a large table sat down it was deafening and we couldn't hear at all and were shouting at each other. I wouldn't go back unless I could be sure I wouldn't be seated there. Perhaps some sound panels could be added. The noise made a lovely night unpleasant.
I love 1928 and have been multiple times. This time we were seated in the back room which was very relaxing and quiet (the front area is more loud and a hip vibe). The food was good : clam chowder, steak frit, fish - all great. The cocktail I ordered was not good ( watermelon something or other that they took off the bill and I'd suggest they take off the menu as per everyone who tried it at our table of three). The service was fine but in the past it has been exceptional - guess it can't be exceptional every time but certainly nothing to overtly complain about. I'll always go back. It's cozy and the people are nice and mostly locals like me. :).
Food was ok. Service was slow but nice. There is a fine line between relaxed and inattentive. I would call this inattentive. Seems overpriced with tables stuck really close together. You could hear the co creations clearly on either side of you.

First time eating here. Very complex and delicious dishes, cozy neighborhood feel, great antiques and comfortable seating.
Outstanding dining experience at 1928. Great atmosphere and setting in historic section of Boston. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
Awesome food and drinks. Great spot for a night out. Tables are very close together so it can get very noisy.
We dined on Christmas Eve and had the best time. Perfect service, perfect cocktails, and perfect food all around. Hands down the best tuna tartare in Boston.
