The bartender clearly did not think we were deserving of a seat at the bar. We were waiting for a seat at the bar and when a couple got up, the bartender slammed downReserved signs and told us first come first serve in a mocking tone to both us and the people who were willing to give us their seats. For some reason we were not treated like we had been there for 15 min. Horrifying experience

Always been curious about 1928. It is a beautiful restaurant with friendly service. More local Boston/American type of food, if I were asked what Boston cuisine is like, I would most likely let them know about 1928.Though I rated food a 3, it gets the job done. Friends and I walked out happy and fulfilled. I recommend the Steak Frites and Filet Mignon for entree. Oysters and crab cakes for appetizers. Skip the octupus and halibut (too dry). If you cant go without dessert, have some cheesecake.Overall a good experience, great company is a must which made my experience overall.

Was a pleasure to drink an excellent old fashioned here. Their door man Austin was more than helpful and found room for us on the beautiful rooftop patio.

Great spot, great staff, friendly service, and great food (especially the octopus). Will be back! Oh, and offer valet! I spent 20 minutes circling the block! Not your fault but would be amazing :)

Everything was amazing. Service was top notch. Food was incredible. Would have loved a few specials but everyone found something that they enjoyed. Back room was a little hot and stuffy (not just our table complaining) but the staff did whatever they could to make it more comfortable. Great wine list! Can t wait to go back.

The food was okay but for the quality too expensive. Lobster bisque was too thick and had no flavor, the fried shrimps were good and the braised short ribs with Demi glace were good but the sauce was more like a gravy and not a Demi glace. The whisky sour was bad because it had not bourbon taste, no foam and the flavor was just very acidic (old lemon juice flavor).

This place is perfect for a cold wintery day. It is dark and cozy and the only thing missing in this antique clad, beautifully decorated restaurant is a working fireplace! I happened to have brunch here on a sunny day-my first time here so I did not know it was so dark inside. We sat by the window though, on comfy armed chairs with a puffy back pillow which was nice. Our waiter was kind and efficient and my avocado toast was good but it could have used more avocado and my sister's omelette was good but I think it could have come with at least one slice of toast. I may return to try a cocktail at their long bar one evening when I am in town next because I noticed the bartender was making a few good lookin' ones! ;)

Fantastic food drinks and atmosphere. It quickly became a place we have to come back to. We both loved it. The service was exemplary and the food delicious. Our drinks were yummy as well. 10/10

I was so excited to try this place, and it was so disappointing. We were sat at a really uncomfortable tiny table with huge leather chairs that sank down way too far. It just felt very awkward. The bathrooms were dirty and the trash was spilling over. The food was so disappointing that we didn’t even end up getting a main course. We got apps and a desert. Even the ice cream was bad. Overall this place is super cute, but beneath the glossy surface it’s pretty bad.

Lovely neighborhood brunch spot with fantastic cocktails and standard (well-executed) brunch fair.Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps down to the entrance of the restaurant and no discernible way for wheelchair users to access the front door.

This is such a great restaurant. We had walked by it a couple of times visiting friends and it looked super cool from the outside so we decided to make brunch reservations for my wife's 50th birthday. We are not disappointed. The decor and ambiance was fantastic. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable and everyone was very nice and friendly. We wanted to just hang out there in the very chill vibe and listen to the lovely French bossa nova and loungetastic music. Highly recommend it. We will be going back again for dinner in the near future.

Food is not good at all. Menu says Eggs Benedict come with an English muffin but they come with a huge Portuguese role from Madeira that is triple the size of the ham provided. Bread type is not appropriate and ruin the plate. Fries were good hot and crispy, but Eggs Benedict is probably the worse I've had. Ordered pancakes to the table thinking being in Beacon Hill in what it seemed a high end place and ended up having a hard, dry frozen style stack of pancakes with 0 presentation. One of the persons in my party asked for an orange juice. Even though it wasn't freshly squeezed as the type of place requires it to be it could have been at least a premium supermarket option, it was the cheapest sour option you can probably buy. Person ordered a left all as is as it was not drinkable. The nice decoration and server didn't make up unfortunately for the worse breakfast place food wise, from a 10+ year Boston resident. Disappointed and never returning. It is actually not comprehensible that the owners of such a beautiful spot in a prime location don't have more care and passion for pulling up a menu and food quality that aligns with a scene. Conclusion: first and last, never again :/
