bartenders trick you into paying gratuity on top of the cash tip you give them without showing receipt, decent food
One of the few bars on the UFC website that ACTUALLY shows the fights. Great time. Thanks for showing the fight and hosting us. Cheers!

I didn’t have the food. But we had the best service we’ve had anywhere in Boston here. It’s everyone friendly. The bartenders are the best I’ve experienced in my week long visit. We met the owner and he’s fabulous!

Great Irish bar in the heart of back bay. Friendly stave, bustling atmosphere, decent beer and prices

This was a fun place to hang out, and the music was good, but the bartender gave my friends a hard time about ordering dirty Shirleys, refusing to serve them even after asking for IDs, saying it was a child’s drink. Mind you we are pushing 30. Can a beautiful woman not order a dirty Shirley in peace in the year of our lord 2024? When god sings with his creations, will dirty Shirleys not be part of the choir?

Was there at 5:30 yesterday. 50+ people and one bartender. Eventually left without being able to order.

Great service.
CHECK YOUR BILL!! We came in on a Saturday and there were no servers, just order at the bar. No problem. Ordered 2 burgers, a beer and a cocktail. Bartender hands me the card reader at the tip page, the bill was $92, which seemed high but I didn’t have a way to check it at that point. I added a tip, and it made the total well over $100 (for 2 burgers, a beer and a cocktail). Later I went to the bar to ask for the receipt. Turns out, when the bartender handed me the electric card scanner, she had already added a 20% gratuity (without my consent or awareness). My tip was (apparently) on top of that 20% gratuity. Super sheisty. When I called them out on it later, they offered to take off the additional tip, and said “it’s a new system, maybe they’re still learning it.” I doubt that, I got swindled and I’m glad I got some of my money back. The burgers were over cooked but tasted fine. A side salad was $5 extra. No big deal. I’m not thrilled that I was played for extra money (especially when I had to go to the bar to order, providing very little service to justify 20%+ extra tip). Just be careful.

I bought 2 tickets for a whiskey tasting and jazz night at this establishement through Eventbrite. We showed up at the location the night of the event to be informed by the bartender that the event had been cancelled. They didn’t cancelled the event on Eventbrite and never offered me a refund. I tried to get a refund through Eventbrite and tried several times to contact the bar without success. Complete scam and this is the only way I have to warn people of this bar and their events.

I went there for an event with my friends, and it was an amazing place. The servers/bartenders were kind, the food was well cooked, and the drinks were delicious. The quintessential Boston pub. Would recommend!

Very welcoming Irish pub with a camaraderie among patrons that makes you feel like you are in a Dublin pub. A must for first time visitors to Boston.
