As a vegetarian, I missed more surprises in the tasting menu. The bread and butter after 5 food courses was unexpected

Always make a priority of coming here when in Boston. The service is excellent and they’ve come to add an even more personal touch as I’ve gone back again and again. Sitting at the counter viewing the kitchen is a must. You see all the action and gorgeous plating as it takes shape.
Absolutely recommend the wine pairings. They are always interesting but also approachable, sophisticated but never intimidating or overwhelming.
Also recommend opting in for the foie gras special when they have it. It changes with the seasons (as does the rest of the menu) and I’ve loved it every time.
Overall a great experience and fabulous meal every time!

I wanted to express my appreciation to the staff and chefs at Asta. I had hoped to enjoy the delicious chefs testing menu with my family but I got an unexpected migraine. The chef made me some nice comfort food so I could still enjoy the experience with my family even though I was feeling terrible. It helped to salvage the night and felt nurturing!

Tiny portions and mostly vegetables. The main fish and meat dishes were good but nothing worth remembering. For the price, it is not worth it.

The supplemental seared foie gras was excellent. Overall, this restaurant was fine but I’d recommend going next door for better food. However, the atmosphere at the restaurant was fun and modern.

Great service, great wine. It wasn’t mind blowing, and I was excited for a WOW moment. Loved how veggie forward the meal was, the best dish was a rutabaga moment. My steak wasn’t hot enough I thought

Best fine dining experience of my life. It was everything I had hoped for and more. From the service, to the music, to of course the food. I added the cheese plate. I loved watching the Chef(s) at work. It was the best way to spend our anniversary in Boston. So happy we booked reservations and got the last counter seats upon arrival. If you’re wanting a fun and always changing chef’s menu go to Asta. If I was local I’d be a regular. It was art on a plate and I didn’t want it to end.

Lovely presentation and great service, unfortunately, none of the food that we ate was particularly memorable or impactful, especially for the price

A wonderful experience & hidden gem in Boston!

Love this place, since the menu changes monthly it’s always a new experience to go back. Sitting up at the bar near the kitchen is a more fun experience than at a table. Service is great, and can’t wait to go back

Have eaten here several times for special occasions. The food never disappoints and the service is always spectacular. The price feels quite fair for a prix fixe meal with such unique flavors and high quality ingredients. Unlike other multi-course dining options in Boston, both your taste buds and wallet will leave satisfied.

Absolute joy. No course was anything short of spectacular. Particular favorites were the cassava dumpling with beet, the potato and coriander and the parsnip with sauerbraten.

I have been wanting to try the vegan January tasting menu for quite some time, and unfortunately left disappointed last night. While each item tasted good, it felt like a very narrow mindset of what vegan food can be. Most dishes were a small piece of vegetable with a sauce. There were no proteins and no course felt particularly interesting or inventive. Favorites included the squash dessert, lime sweet potato, and soup with Asian pear. While very tasty, no bites were particularly memorable. At this price point and portion size, I have high expectations and most things felt very ordinary. If not so beautifully plated, the flavors were no different than a standard restaurant at a far lower price point. The wine pairing on the other hand was quite generous but did not help with the growing hunger as the meal progressed. After leaving, we were all still hungry and had to go get a slice of pizza. That simply should not be happening after spending $250+ per person on a meal. Overall, there are much better restaurants in Boston to splurge on an exciting and innovative meal that won't leave you hungry.

We just visited during the January vegan tasting menu- it was AMAZING! The food was delicious and imaginative, the wine pairings tasty, and the service was just lovely. If you're on the fence, make the reservation and go, you will not be disappointed!

This restaurant is just bad. It has absolutely no taste, is overpriced, and pretentious. I really wanted to like it but alas every single dish was disappointing and frankly tastes like cardboard. It sounds harsh, but given the price ($200 pp), we were left hungry. Also they don’t have a list of drinks to look at, or cutlery on the table—it’s in a weird drawer on the side of the table facing you so you have to pull your chair out every time.

Asta serves a tasting menu. On Saturday night, everyone is served the same 6 course accompanied by bread and an amuse bouche. I found the service and the food to be outstanding-I would award 6 stars if I could. I have disliked venison as being dry and gamy. This venison was like a filet mignon. We followed other recommendations and ordered the optional fois gras course. It was uncutuous, caramelized and served with roasted brussel sprouts that complimented it perfectly. Dessert was a spicy cake with lemony whipped cream.
