Went in for a quick dinner before heading to fenway park for a Red Sox game. The restaurant is quiet and tastefully decorated. Both the Miso soup and the signature sushi role were good but not exceptional.

I'm a regular here and have never been disappointed. Literally have never ordered anything here that wasn't absolutely delicious. The sushi rolls are amazing and very very fresh (even in take-out orders of shrimp tempura rolls, the tempura is crispy like fresh out of the oil). Love the soft-shell crab.

I honestly think this place is seriously underrated (especially compared to other Japanese restaurants in greater Boston). The staff are great and the interior is elegant and tasteful.

Easily one of my favorite places to get food at when in the Fenway area. Their food is consistently good & fresh, their service is fast & friendly, and the restaurant itself is beautiful!

Great dining experience! Delicious sushi... so many to choose from. We tried the " Tasty", "The crunchy", "The Basho" Fabulous server, Joseph was attentive and friendly. Gave us good food recommendations. We were celebrating my niece's birthday and Joseph made sure my niece's drink was always filled, brought her a surprise birthday dessert. Ambiance super cool, great music playlist. The host, Madeline was very nice, sat us on a very nice table, nice view and came by a couple times to make sure we were having a nice xperience. They also validate parking... that's a nice perk in Fenway area. I will definetely go back!

The atmosphere is really casual. Which isn't a bad thing. The food really shines, everything came out great. Prices on point for Boston. Service wasn't bad, but inattentive and confused. Seemed like there were 3 different servers taking our orders so no one person was responsible for our table. Overall worth checking out in the back bay

probably one of the city’s most affordable nigiri box deals. 12 pieces for $38 is a steal. Most of the sushi was fine, one was stellar (white fish), and one (toro) severely disappointed. Spicy tuna roll was good.

Basho is the best! We live nearby and my husband and I are always telling ourselves that we are so happy to be by Basho. We eat here at least once a week. Their food is consistently delicious, the sushi is always fresh, service is fast, and the staff is always so kind. The portions are hefty, and both dining in and take out are consistently great experiences. The patio is also beautiful in the summer with gorgeous colorful real flowers!

We also have a super active toddler (who LOVES the food here), and the restaurant staff is always so understanding and sweet with him - they have plenty of high chairs and always interact with him as try to make him laugh. Once, we left behind one of his sippy cups and the restaurant carefully washed it and held onto it until we came back to eat again and brought it back to us (we didn’t even realize it was missing)! It’s rare to find restaurants that are happy to see kids dine in too!

A few favorite dishes:

Miso black cod. It’s to die for - lightly sweet, always so flaky, so tender, and so delicious. The marinade that they use is on point.

Nookie roll. My favorite sushi roll here - it’s hearty and loaded and lightly seared.

Chicken karaage. Our kid’s fave - he could eat these endlessly. Always hot, crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside.

Mushroom soup, salad, edamame, pork belly steamed bun, and a huge poke bowl with giant roe and super fresh fish. Everything was amazing. Will definitely be back!

Basho is consistently well-prepared and delicious! I work in the area and buy both dine-in and takeout regularly. My favorite is their spicy tuna roll. I'd argue that it's the best in Boston. Their ingredients are always fresh and their entire team is very service-oriented. Their lunch menu, especially the salmon okonomi set, is worth a try.

We've been going to basho for 10 years now, and I'm sorry to say I think this will be our last time. The restaurant was fairly busy when we get there but that's no explanation of why it took us over an hour and 15 minutes to get our food despite asking several times after our order.

I payed for an extra fried egg for the fried rice then I wrote on the instructions “please make the extra fried egg scrambled”. They give me a fried egg with runny yolk. I didn’t ask for that to be demanding, I asked for it BECAUSE at this point it is not SAFE for my health to eat runny yolk. Please do better, it doesn’t cost you anything to read the instructions and make a simple adjustment for someone who paid $3 for an extra egg, it’s less than a minute off your day!! Fortunately GRUBHUB refunded me for the egg at least. This is ridiculous!

Great lunch spot! The food was amazing! We enjoyed a variety appetizers, sushi, and a flavorful hot stone pot (highly recommend) and finished with some delicious dessert. Everything was fresh, well prepared and full of flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
