It was not our first time at Black Lamb, but it was a good reminder that we should be going more. The cornbread is worth getting and bringing home half. As for “service,” Madeline could be a professor of hospitality.
Service was excellent - our server made great recommendations. The food was delicious - especially enjoyed the lamb ribs and cornbread.
What a great restraurant. First time there. Service was excellent -- attentive and responsive. Everyone had smiles. Food was exceptional -- an array of choices and delicious. Ambiance was perfect. Prices were decent. We'll be back!
Very loud, like an upscale sports bar. My order came out incorrectly, twice. Food was uneven. Some dishes were good. Others were not.
Came for birthday dinner with family and had the best experience: fantastic food, awesome server, fun atmosphere. Wonderful evening! Highly recommend!
Food was great but our waiter definitely didn't check in enough (we sat with empty drinks several times) despite it not being busy. Overall good experience.
The food was excellent but the service did not match. Our server seemed disinterested and it took over an hour just to get our drinks. Getting the attention from our waiters or placing any orders was a challenge throughout the meal.
food and drinks were awesome, our server was fun and informative, and we had a great time and didn't feel rushed even on a busy Saturday.
We got there early and the service was great! 5 stars for sure, attentive without being pushy or constantly interrupting but I didn't wonder where she was at any point in our meal. The food was good. Not overly complicated and sophisticated enough that I wasn't left with a fine dining bill after an average meal. If the parking on Tremont didn't remind me of how much the South End has upscaled, my half of the check certainly did! But I felt the experience, the care, and the quality of the food all added up to a nice night out with a good friend. Well worth the money.
I had lamb ribs that were quite disappointing. The cookies were excellent and my dining companions had meals that were ok but nothing exceptional.

Black Lamb has good potential but definitely had some kinks to work out with their service. The staff was highly aware that service needed improvement and apologetic and I felt empathetic but we still waited 45 minutes to get a drink and attention from our waiter was consistently inconsistent.
Really nice food, enjoyed the 2$ oysters, the pork chops were delicious and our waitress was good - only issue was the management came out after our dinner and asked for more tips on top of the 19% that was already given - slightly strange interaction, shows how management pulls the tip from the staff who really deserve it!

Food was excellent. We had mostly smaller plates. The cornbread was outstanding as was the grilled cheese crab rangoon. The artichoke dip was also very good.
They accommodated our party of 6 with excellent service and all the food was delicious! Very pleased!
