Foods good but doesn’t make up for the rude bartender and hostile service. You would have thought I bullied him in kindergarten the way he treated us. Very confusing. And I still left a great tip because I bartended for years and understand the grind but still there’s a difference between strictly business service and straight up hostile.

You come here for the Tavern vibes and a place to grab a drink with friends. Filled with locals. Tourists mostly don't know that this place exists, which is nice. Been coming here for 5+ years and have so many memories here. The drinks are good, food is good. This place is our local drinking/meet up spot in the Back Bay.

Quite honestly the rudest bartender I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I can’t wait to never come back :)

Biggest issue is their AC it is one big central vent that can freeze you :-). Then you get a bunch of idiots who spread along the bar as if they are have it for themselves! Not civility!

Corner Tavern, Where Comfort Meets Energy
In a solid, upscale part of town, this corner bar keeps things grounded, the kind of place where you feel welcome in jeans or a blazer. It’s got a youthful vibe and a steady hum of great energy, the sort of spot that feels like it’s been part of the neighborhood forever.
The staff were all business during the thirsty Thursday rush, handling the wave with practiced ease. They weren’t particularly loquacious, and if that’s the kind of server you prefer, you won’t mind. What they were, was efficient: drinks landed quickly, orders were right, and nobody was left waiting.
The beer was cold, the service was prompt, and the room was alive with conversation and music. It’s a place that doesn’t have to try too hard — it just works.
Restaurantji Recommends
Came in to grab a quick beer, ended up staying for 2 hours. Connor was an awesome bartender, had a great chat. Would recommend for someone looking for a pint.

We were on a walkabout on our recent visit to Boston and were looking for a bar to grab a drink and get out of the heat for a bit. We came across Corner Street Bar and it turned out to be the perfect place to land. Friendly service, full bar and a beautiful newly renovated interior. Considering the outdoor temps (and humidity) that day the AC in the establishment was a glorious 68 to 70°. And that was a real treat. The Corner Tavern was just what we were looking for!

Very poor service. The waiter literally YELLED at us and he was so mean to us.
We were celebrating the school’s semester end on monday. We had lots of drinks, first, the waiter left all the glasses and bottles without cleaning for the whole 2-3 hours. Then, one of our friends accidentally drop the corona bottle. The waiter YELLED at us saying we need to leave, it’s monday night why you breaking glasses etc. First off, you open monday night, we didn’t stay after or near the closing time. Second, it’s a bottle of beer, not glasses. Things like this happen at the bar. I’m not trying to justify my friend but the way we were treated was like WE ARE NOT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. This could have been handled better. He acted like we committed crime or something. My friend calmly apologized (i don’t know how but he managed to be very calm) after the first yell but the waiter just kept going on with that attitude.
I will never go there again and i will tell my friends not to go there. It’s supposed to be a school year end celebration (and i’m not talking about wild party, it’s just us drinking beers, standing and talking to each other). Turned out, this guy ruined our experience.

Exceptional food in Back Bay! You can tell the staff really cares about the quality of their food and the ambiance of their restaurant. Their pasta salad was incredible and made with a pesto sauce instead of a traditional oil based dressings. I absolutely recommend it.
Appx $23 after tax and tip for a sandwich, side, and fountain drink.
