Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, Back BayNestled in the heart of Boston's Prudential Center, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse boasts a reputation for its exquisite steaks and opulent seafood offerings. Anticipation was high for a dining experience that promised culinary excellence. While the meal itself lived up to expectations, an unsettling service experience unfortunately cast a long shadow over the evening, highlighting a critical area of concern in the realm of hospitality and inclusivity.Culinary Highs:The evening began on a high note with the VIP Drink, a testament to the art of cocktail-making that beautifully balanced flavor and potency. This delightful concoction set the stage for a memorable meal.Appetizers:Our journey commenced with a customizable seafood tower:- King Crab: Served either chilled or warmed, We chose the steamed option offering a transcendent taste experience.- Tuna Tartare: Enhanced by caviar and a shrimp chip, this dish was a symphony of flavors, recommended heartily by our server.- Oysters: Though delicious, the selection felt limited, leaving us yearning for more.- Shrimp Cocktail: Well-prepared, yet lacking the distinctiveness to elevate it above the standard fare.Main Courses:- Porterhouse Steak: This dish stood out as a highlight, surpassing similar offerings at renowned establishments.- A5 Wagyu 6oz: Despite its tenderness, the lack of warmth detracted from the overall enjoyment, hinting at better alternatives elsewhere.Accompaniments + Dessertss- Creamed Corn and Loaded Baked Potato distinguished themselves as exceptional sides.- The Butter Cake, particularly with strawberry sauce, ended our meal on a sublime note, its crispy edges crafting a memorable dessert experience.A Moment of DiscomfortYet, it was not the culinary journey but a singular service incident that defined the evening. Ellen, a hostess, approached our table with a request exclusively directed at me, asking for the removal of my hat in adherence to the restaurant's policy. This request, seemingly mundane, was laden with discomfort upon realization that it was selectively applied. My dining companion, similarly attired but not subjected to the same scrutiny, and other patrons, unnoticed by the policy enforcement, underscored a painful disparity. This selective enforcement was particularly stinging, as it seemed to underscore my identity as both Asian and gay, a perception that Ellen's approach inadvertently emphasized. The ensuing interaction, or rather the lack of a meaningful one, with Ellen and the delayed engagement with management, did little to assuage the feeling of being unjustly singled out in an environment that should champion inclusivity and respect above all. But please note when the management did arrive she was delightful and understanding. I exclaimed to her my reason for speaking with her was not for any type of compensation but to share my experience as I would never want anyone else to experience this type of service when spending $$$$.Reflections on HospitalityThis experience at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse serves as a poignant reminder of the critical importance of equitable treatment and sensitivity within the hospitality industry. A restaurant's reputation is built not only on the quality of its cuisine but also on the caliber of its service and the warmth of its welcome to all guests, irrespective of their background or identity. In conclusion, while the dishes served at Del Frisco's were a testament to culinary expertise, the evening was overshadowed by a moment that highlighted the essential need for greater awareness, training, and commitment to inclusivity in the service sector. The true measure of a dining experience lies not only in the enjoyment of the meal but in feeling valued and respected throughout the encounter.

My boyfriend and I went for restaurant week. Our apps were delicious-Caesar salad and shrimp. We got the filet mignon for our entree which was amazing! We got the chocolate mouse and butter cake for dessert which both were very yummy! Also our waitress Jules was awesome!

Went there during restaurant week. While the food was outstanding, the service was one of the worst I've ever experienced in Boston. We did not have a chance to order more drinks than a cocktail with our appetizer as our waiter only took our order and delivered the check. Very disappointing service experience unfortunately, however the steak was delicious!

I wanted to try Del Frisco for my birthday. Table for 3 was changed to table for 2, 20 minutes before arrival? They blamed it on Opentable? Didn't want to risk it and called to make sure. Surprised not busy. And server was frequently not available. Got entree w/o vegetables - 5-10 min later? Ask to speak to manager many time and she was hostile when I shared feedback. Oh bill was $100 more b/c server charged for a bottle of wine that we didn't have; manager adjusted bill. But food very good.

Unusual, cute layout, with a very wide selection of wines. Excellent quality of meat and a lobster cream suiting the windy winter weather. Unbeatable. Very professional

We were really looking forward to dining here but we were sadly surprised by how terrible it was. We were a little late because the orange line was running behind and was called to let them know. They were nice and didn't mind. When we got there, no one was at the host stand to check in so we went to the other entrance, no one was there either. We went back to the first one and we got seated. The host showed me to the bathroom and got a seat for our baby. The server was delivering us bread but no butter and then our server actually changed for whatever reason-it was very weird. We ordered a sushi roll and lobster bisque. The bisque was very salted and there was a lobster shell in my soup :(. The sushi roll did not come with wasabi or soy sauce. It was very bland and just was terrible. Our steak was good and cooked how we wanted but nothing over the top. We got lobster Mac and cheese. I was kind of over lobster at this point. There was literally no cheese on it. Super weird. Asparagus was great! Manager said came over to address some of our concerns without us asking. She took off our soup and Mac and cheese. Just honestly disappointing and definitely not worth it. Service was poor and slow and it was not busy. Would recommend Eddie v every day over this Del friscos.

Memorable night! We wanted it to be special and special it was. From the warm welcome of the valet service to the hostess and sitting at the bar having the 90-year-old birthday grandmother enjoying her favorite, espresso martini, delicious! The dining room is beautiful, mom loved looking over the harbor. Our waiter Travis was superb, he made some excellent recommendations, and was very attentive to the Guest of honor. We loved the Shanghai-style calamari, the jumbo crab cakes are the best I’ve had and the bone in prime ribeye were some of our favorites. Birthday candle in the cake desert was wonderful. Thank you for making my mom sooo happy. We can’t wait to go back!

Food was really good! What bothers me and allows me not to give this place 5 stars is the lack of communication. Tonight a special was bacon wrapped scallops. One, the scallops are not wrapped they sit on a bead of bacon squares. When we received our check well over $300 which was already expected we noticed they charged us 4 times for the scallops. We made note to our server but she informed us that each scallop is $14. Are you kidding? Not so much that each scallop is $14 but that you did not communicate that to us! And you charged us for 4 scallops for 4 people at our table, two of which are children! She said our server steps don’t allow us to communicate money. I don’t care how much anyone makes or doesn’t make you need to communicate things like that! I would have not ordered 2 of the scallops as my kids don’t eat them. You don’t have to mention the price but you VERY much need to say “the scallops on special are a la carte how many would you like?” Very simple. Our server in general was amazing!!!! Loved her!Atmosphere was ok, we’re not greeted when we walked in and had to ask to be serviced.

Waited a while to get my food, the waiter did not think to check in with me or my date to give us an update on the status of our food nor check in if we needed more appetizers. I ended getting the order to go and the lamb chop I ordered was for a well-done lamb chop, the food I received was burnt.

Cocktails at the bar were on point and dinner was excellent. Our service and overall experience did not disappoint. Different vibe than Seaport location. This location is more quiet and intimate.
