The place is very nice, laid out well and inviting. Service was very good. Prices are too high for the fish quality, which is fine but not outstanding. Spicy lobster soup was good, as was my cocktail. Overall an enjoyable experience, but the price may nag at you, especially if you splurge for the high-end sushi platter.

Had another enjoyable dining experience at Douzo Modern Japanese Restaurant on Saturday evening. The food and ambiance of this restaurant is wonderful. The service from our server Vi was also excellent! Douzo has never disappointed us, this is a 1st class Japanese restaurant! Food, Ambiance and Service is rated at 10+++

Service was not what I would expect for a premium dining experience. Plates were not cleared, a spilled drink was not refilled. Also presenting a card reader with preset tip percentages is more common at lesser eateries so for this restaurant to use that approach seemed slimy. Upgrade your service to match your food and prices is my advice.

Absolutely fantastic! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and very tasty. If you ever visit Duozo Sushi, you HAVE to try the XO Toro. I cannot put into words how delicious it was, it’s an experience in and of itself!

Douzo is one of my favorite go-to restaurants when I'm meeting friends in Boston. Food is always fantastic as are the drinks and service. Last night we had a reservation at 7pm and when we arrived our table was not quite ready. The staff immediately got our drink orders while we waited, and then when we were sat down (about 15-20 minutes later) they sent over appetizers on the house as an apology for the delay. Excellent customer service!

Cold miso soup. Old, cold tea. Nasty sweet and sour sauce on our sushi roll.
Worst of all, there was pineapple in our sushi when we explicitly said we’re allergic!
Even if this was an off day, I can’t imagine it’s fantastic on any other day.

Always outstanding food here. The lobster miso soup, steamed shrimp dumplings, caterpillar maki were delicious. Only criticism was with the beef roll, which lacked character and flavor. Despite having said that, this is a wonderful restaurant which, if I lived closer, would frequent more often.

Just ok. I'm always a bit suspicious about sushi restaurants that lean heavily into spicy because I fear they are covering up old fish. This place has less plain sushi and is heavy on the spicy. Our meal was fine the Tuna Tataki was good as was the soft shell carb tempura the rest of what we ordered so so.
