When Fornax first opened in Roslindale, we were thrilled! I still am so grateful to have a bakery in my neighborhood. However, the recipes have changed with new ownership. The olive bread, for example, used to be loaded with juicy pieces of olive. After all, you pay for it!
The past two times I have treated myself to a loaf of olive bread, I have had a hard time to even find olives. It’s more like they grate a few olives in to be able to call it olive bread. Examine...

I have now come to this spot twice and I’ve brought with me two other friends who are very picky with eating. The food is delicious and the service is really what blows me away. Always cheerful and with a smile on their face. He even gave me a free pastry! I highly recommend Fornax Bakery and I will be supporting this business frequently!!

I drive from Watertown to get Fornax bread regularly. I love their multigrain, white, and raisin walnut. Something in their flour mix—is it rye? — makes their bread hearty and firm. Also ALL their tea breads are moist and yummy. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. Makes the trip worth it.
