I can’t thank you guys enough for their fantastic service. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests and made us feel like VIPs. This place exceeded my expectations with its creative and flavorful vegan dishes. We’ll be back!!!

I'm only giving it two stars because their food used to be good. I swear I found a piece of...something in my No Name. At best it was animal cartilage. I will never order from them again.

Vegan restaurant with typical Chinese takeout-style food. Dishes are not authentic - think Panda Express but vegan - but they do a pretty good job of using meat substitutes. We got the house special assorted appetizers (standout were the vermicelli hand rolls, all other apps were not very flavorful), the sweet and sour sensation (soy protein here looked like tofu and some pieces were not fully battered), the no name (I definitely recommend if you're going for something close to the texture of meat), and the sizzling platter (good black bean sauce). Each dish was fairly cheap for the amount of food and I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

Although the food is good, not a place anyone should be eating from, I’m surprise board of health hasn’t shut them down. Last time I was there was about 3 years ago for dine-in and they had roaches, went again but for take out this time, since they were still running, figured it improved but they still have roaches… didn’t even eat my food.

This is a long overdue review since I first ate at Grasshopper when they opened in the late 90's and I quickly became a regular both for eat in and take-out. Fast forward to 2024 and it's a huge favorite for both my vegetarian and non-veg family members, kids and adults alike. My personal favorites are the delight soup and "beef" and broccoli dish with brown rice. We usually try a new dish in addition to our usual, and have yet to find one we don't like. With the generous servings and reasonable prices, we often buy a couple of extra meals to take home for leftovers. The staff is friendly, the ambiance is nothing special, but that's not why you eat at Grasshopper. I hope this place continues on for many many years to come.

Absolute steal. The amount of food you get for what you pay is great, and it's all vegan! The coconut noodles and anything with the seitan are really good. They have so many creative options to try. The inside is actually pretty nice, it's a shame more people don't go in person. My only complaint is that they could use less plastic in their takeout packaging.

I love Grasshopper. It offers a wide variety of choices that are all vegan. Their vegan beef and broccoli is phenomenal! My husband who is not vegan thoroughly enjoys that dish as well. I love many of the options myself. I wish there were more restaurants like Grasshopper. Sometimes I buy several luncheon dishes and freeze them for later. Thank you Grasshopper for being progressive.

Heavenly food that is also vegan and tasty. We had a lovely dinner with friends and ordered 4 entrees and 4 appetizers. Was surprised that the bill was just 90$ with left overs for all 4 of us for another meal. The highlight wasnt just the price, the food tasted SO good! Definitely revisiting

Buffet is held every 3rd Sunday of each month. Sometimes the Boston Vegetarian Society holds meetings here. Plutarch said "So much suffering of pain for a taste on the tongue." There were vegetarians and vegans in ancient times. The cost is around $12. I can eat about 7 plates of food from the buffet I am averaging. I look forward to bringing one of my best friends here soon for the buffet. I like the dish called the 'awesome family' which includes asparagus in black bean sauce and tofu along with seitan it takes like steak but it is only made from plants. The soups are also good. I have enjoyed the won ton soup and the hot and sour soup.I am now only eating in vegan restaurants and hoping for a vegan supermarket. It would be nice to see more crowds during other times when the buffet is not being put on in order to keep the restaurant afloat. They do a lot of takeout orders however. I'm always pleased with what I order. Although it is fried I do like the tofu 'chicken' fried in batter kind of like a corn dog accompanied with sauce. The menu is extensive although I tend to stay with dishes I know I already like. The buffet includes hot and sour soup and miso soup. Appetizers are won tons, spring rolls, and chicken corndogs with tofu in the center. The entrees include a veggie dish with a variety of vegetables and the other is a broccoli beef as far as I remember. I like the bamboo shoots in the latter mentioned dish.
