Food is not that good, ordered the Salmon with coconut sauce and the coconut sauce was good but the salmon was a joke, a whole brick they served me. When I presented the situation, they told me thats how its made, I said I could do a much better job myself, how can it be made this hard? They said "Yeah that's how its made here." If they were going to serve this quality of food, I am not sure how people are still going to this place when there are much better options around the area. I was going to let it slide and asked them to replace the meal with something. Restaurant 101 is the guest that is not happy with their dish, simply replace the dish to ensure customer loyalty. But they got that wrong, they said if I want to replace it, they will charge me for the horribly cooked salmon dish and whatever I was going to replace it with. I know for a fact they are using the Atlantic Salmon bought from BJs that comes in a bag with 6 of them and they used 1 for my dish, didn't bother to fire up another Salmon neither nor suggested it. Simply told me "Sorry, that's how its made here, just eat it." Horrible practice. Whoever is controling quality control there needs to be replaced immediately or this place will sink (maybe then they would have fresh seafood).

My wife ended up getting the Mofongo and her food came out cold to the point she did not eat it. They do nothing for the guest but just take your money and smile at you serving you horrible quality food and back it up just by saying "That's how we make it." I wouldn't put it past them if food dropped on the floor and they picked up and blew some dust off and still serve it and if customers complained they'd say "I gUeSs tHaTs HoW iTs MaDe HeRe. SoRrY."

Save your money, save your appetite. Literally past the baseball field there is a corner store that serves Dominican food in the corner that serves 100x better food and its fast and cheaper.

I normally don't write a negative review like this, but this experience has to be known. Either they get their act together or shut this place down and put a real Restaurant in.

The food here is disgusting and unfortunately I have tried this place twice & both times they have either overcooked or undercooked our food. When I told them that my salmon was hard they told me that's just how they cook it and told me that they would charge me for another plate if I sent back the salmon. Horrible service and horrible food.

Too loud on Sunday nights. Disturbing neighbors that are near and several blocks away with loud music.

Excellent place to stop for lunch which was our opportunity and we spent with our daughters, if you live in Boston visit them and give them your signature so they can extend their opening hours and if you are from New York like me or from anywhere in the world and you want to eat Latin food, I recommend it, they have parking and it is a very clean and cozy place.
Thank you girls for your attention.

I recently dined at Guira Y Tambora in Roslindale, MA, and it was a delightful experience. Upon arrival, my friend and I found the restaurant nearly empty, which made for a quiet atmosphere. However, as we settled in, the place quickly filled up, creating a lively vibe.

Our waitress, Chary, was incredibly friendly and attentive. She made us feel welcome right from the start, which added to the overall positive experience. We were excited to try the authentic Dominican cuisine, and I must say, the food did not disappoint. Each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented, showcasing the rich culinary traditions of the Dominican Republic.

One small drawback was the wait for our food. It took a bit longer to arrive than we anticipated, and my stomach was growling by the time it finally came out. While the delay was noticeable, I wouldn’t necessarily consider it a major negative; it’s possible they were just busy preparing fresh dishes for the growing crowd.

Overall, I highly recommend Guira Y Tambora for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Dominican food in a warm, inviting setting. I can’t wait to return and try more from their menu!

On the never again list
Tell you that much
Below is the $28 “shrimp Alfredo”
With legitimately 4 shrimp on the dish
The other dish is the fish that appears to have been cooked in dirty oil
Service as good
Atmosphere was nice
