I encountered a number of issues that ultimately led to an unsatisfactory stay. I found the level of service provided to be lacking, with staff members being unresponsive to my requests and ignoring my concerns. Additionally, the amenities and facilities were in poor condition, making the hotel stay uncomfortable.I have reached out to you directly before leaving this review, and I had hoped for a satisfactory resolution to my concerns. However, after receiving no response, I felt that it was important to share my experience with others.

I visited my friend, who lived at the Clarendon Residences, located at 140 Clarendon Street. It's right across from the nicest condo building in the neighborhood, "One Back Bay," where *I* live. The apartments, at OBB, rent from about $3000-$10,000 a month and offer high end, luxury amenities. The rentals here, across the street at Clarendon residences, offer section 8 housing for the homeless, and those in drug addiction programs. As you can imagine, there is quite a difference between the temperament and lifestyle of the two different buildings facing each other across Clarendon Street.THE DEAL: don't pay top dollar to live in Back Bay, BUT at the Clarendon residences. I residents there wander the halls, aimlessly, eyes glazed. Most of them would be homeless without section 8 vouchers to pay their rent. People looking to rent there ought to be warned before they sign anything.

Photos misleading we had no desk/chair. Lounge on 7th floor had no chairs so we ate meals on the floor. No ledge in our restroom. Plenty of room to add a cabinet or shelf of some sort. Issues with elevators, ice machine went out, never fixed and no staff at front desk when called and when visited front desk to inform ( 20 minutes at least) I understand with COVID-19 things were not like normal. However when trying to support the hospitality industry they could have done more.

So I had booked for two days and when I changed it to one day I accidentally set it for the next day ??‍♀️ Thankfully the woman at the desk found a way around it without getting the $100 cancellation fee from Booking.com. She was so nice and helped us get a new room and even kept it at the same rate! I really appreciated that!

Small clean room in a central location of Back bay. Close to local food gems and well connected back bay train station. I stayed for 2 nights. I will certainly stay here again.

Not what I thought it would be. Don't fall for the breakfast included. I hope you only want decaffeinated coffee and a granola bar for the included breakfast. The evening staff was good. Morning seemed to just be getting through

I accidentally booked for the wrong night and they refused to refund even though they were fully booked that night. They blamed it on Expedia, told me that did not get any money for the booking but in fact they did receive the money from Expedia and refused to allow the refund. The manager of Hotel 140, Garon lied about it. If this is the way they like to treat their customers its probably the tip of the iceberg for everything else associated with the hotel so buyer beware!!

Very nice hotel in a historic building (an old YWCA). Staff is very friendly. Rooms are comfortable. Decent breakfast that's provided free of charge. The only downside is that the walls are thin and you can hear everything from the other rooms. Other than that, a great place to stay.

Hotel was in a great location, however the accommodations were terrible. Room had little to no amenities and needed a makeover immediately. The place accommodates permanent residents as well and was a YWCA in the past. Our restroom had just a shower and lone sink. Nothing to put your toiletries on. Shower had a significant stain on the shower floor where water pooled. There are other hotels on the Back Bay that I would consider first instead of this place when I return.

I checked in very late on Christmas night with three rooms reserved. The front desk person Kiah was there to great me with a big smile and was beyond pleasant. My room was big, beautiful and spotless. The other two rooms were just as nice and clean. They accommodated us by putting all three rooms next to one another. Checking out was a breeze with Jaron... the staff was amazing. Thank you hotel 140

If I could rate this hotel 0 stars I will .My mom’s hotel stay was awful! First the staff was rude since the moment she checked in. After that she got a room where the shower was full of fungi. She requested a change of room and they gave me another one. The room was okay, pretty basic. On her second night at the hotel my room started shaking. When she went to the reception, the receptionist told her that there was a construction besides the building and that was why the room was shaking. This was not advise to her at any time before. She went back to my room thinking it was going to stop and it did not. She tried talking to tge manager the next day and it was impossible. The receptionists kept telling me that the manager was going to arrive and he never did until 10:00 PM. I wrote him an email which he never answered. The next day I had to be at the reception at 7:00 AM as that was the only time I could find the manager. He was also very rude and never even apologized for the inconvenient. I asked him for a refund and my mom left that same day

Twas a nice place. They're very welcoming and the customer service at the reception was great. I wish it wasn't as pricey per night tho ?. But hey, good location and great Covid prevention protocols!

Walked in and was greeted right away by the friendly and helpful front desk man. Parking was right next to the hotel in a parking garage. The location was amazing and was within walking distance to many great areas in Boston. We felt very safe and had a beating view from our rooms window. Overall great stay and would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Boston!
