JJ's Irish Pub & Grille in Dorchester is a welcoming spot with a great atmosphere. Locals are friendly, and the staff is welcoming. They serve a delicious fisherman's platter with steak tips, scallops, mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies for $15. The best pint of Guinness in the states can be found here. Great place for a cocktail. It is a cash-only, no-frills neighborhood bar with some of the cheapest prices around. The place is perfect if you want to just have a few pints with friends, especially since they offer $6 Guinnesses, cheap pitchers, and reasonably priced food. The building is clean and has a pool table and dart boards, making it a fun spot to hang out. It can have a very townie vibe at times, which might not be for everyone, but it’s an unpretentious place that pairs well with nearby Dot Tavern. The place is often closed without updated hours on Google, but when open, it’s a great place to enjoy a beer in a casual setting.
