this place has amazing food, amazing people and amazing vibes. wandered in here at 1030pm looking for good hotpot and ended up enjoying a barrel of laughs as well. Amazing staff, food and environment. Far beyond what was expected. Walked 40 minutes to Chinatown for this instead of taking an Uber and left with a huge smile on my face! if you're looking for good hot pot in Boston please choose this place. I'd also recommend ordering your drinks from this place they certainly won't be shy about it
I ordered hot pot with rib eye and lamb. The meat was too thick, but most importantly looked old. I returned the rib eye bc it had a black spots on it. I also ordered a ramen, and spicy cucumbers. The ramen had barely any vegetables in it, and the flavor wasn’t so good either. The spicy cucumbers were the best thing we got there. I love hot pot and ramen, but I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

If this restaurant was closer to me, I'd be here every month 😳 Fresh and delicious ingredients, kind service and just a great place to eat alone or with some friends/family. 100% recommend!

Great little spot in Chinatown Boston. Excellent service and wide selection of hot pot items. Servers did a great job very attentive and fast. They also have a full bar and liquor menu. Clean, neat while not to busy with comfortable booth seating. Delicious broth I like the spicy side well made. Yeah this is a good spot to eat especially a business lunch or early dinner

This place was really tasty and offered quite the variety of broths. We went with a group of 6 so we got a big pot of spicy broth and a small pot of beef bone broth. The portion sizes for the meat orders were very good and the whole experience was just fantastic. Would definitely recommend going and would definitely go back!

The food was alright, really nothing remarkable. I also couldn’t finish any of my food. Servers won’t let you leave unless you give some type of tip..
I stated I didn’t want to tip and the server was persistent on a tip. After 4-5 times about asking for a tip and showing me how much I should tip. I gave in and just said i’ll leave a cash tip. I gave a cash tip and left. Wouldn’t go back there again..

Kaze Shabu Shabu has been a staple in Boston’s Chinatown for 20 years, and it’s easy to see why. The variety of appetizers, fresh ingredients, and affordable prices make every visit special.

🔥 Fresh, quality ingredients
🔥 La carte menu with variety
🔥 Affordable hot pot experience
🔥 Sauce station with all my favorites
🔥 That charming vibe that takes me back to college
🔥 Open until 2am for late-night cravings

Very Disappointing Experience at Kaze Shabu Shabu !!!
I’ve never written a review before, but this experience was so upsetting that I have to share it.
The food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time. I chose udon instead of rice, but the noodles were completely stuck together and hard like a rock. I could understand if they were a little overcooked, but this was far beyond that. I also ordered fried dumplings, and they came out in less than a minute — which made me wonder if they were even freshly cooked.
The sauce station didn’t look clean, and there were fruit flies flying around the table area. Still, I tried to stay calm and just finish the meal. When I asked for the bill, it was about $60. I left a $5 tip because the food quality was terrible, even though the service itself wasn’t rude.
But then the waitress came over and questioned me about why I left only $5. I was shocked.
Tipping is my personal choice, and after paying for such poor food, being confronted like that was really upsetting.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had — not just because of the food, but because of the disrespect I felt. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience, and that the restaurant takes these issues seriously.

⚠️⚠️This is the worst place you can go and enjoy food. ⚠️⚠️
TLDR: This place really sucks.
☣️ 0. When we entered and seated, a guy who handed over us menus had flu. And he sneezed on the counter.
1. The food is not authentic at all. Don't order anything that is fried, they use poor quality oil.
2. The staff is horrible. When you enter there is a sauce station, I wanted to get the sauce the old lady refused because it only comes with Shabu Shabu. She did not let me soy sauce for the noodles.
3. Being denied from having sauce, I refused to pay the tip. The same flu guy (to identify he is slim, short and unattractive guy with glasses) demanded me the tip. I asked him that the lady did not even given me the sauce, that's I don't want to pay the tip I still did not pay. Then he threw the receipt in the air in rage instead of handing me. I waited there and demanded my receipt the other staff comes and got the receipt.
4. If you are Asian please avoid this disappointment. For other,s please don't ruin your dining experience.
5. I am afraid to get food poisoning because of this unhygienic food.
I pay tip all the time no matter the quality of food. I just pay because most places I have been they show respect towards customers not upright rude.

Paid $30 for mid food with no seasoning and no taste. Please save your money and don’t come here. Staff overcharged tip for reheating frozen food. Mosquitoes everywhere. Pretty bad experience.

Definitely the worst hot pot I've ever had in over 30 years! Rotten cilantro and thick cut meat. Worst of all, the dipping sauce has some weird sour taste because they mixed cooking wine with sesame paste and there's no other option.

It’s been 10 years since I first came, it looks like no one has done a deep clean since then. It’s dingy. Upstairs is blocked off. The chairs are stained. The broth is lumpy when it arrives. I wouldn’t recommend or return.
