Their meat quality is good, the plater combos are good value. Beyond that, everything else is lacking. They have sauce stations with extremely limited offerings, not even the most basic sesame based sauce. Strategy wise, it’s almost better for them to charge for sauce orders than offering something so limited for free. The broth is not Japanese style nor Chinese style, too heavy and complex for Japanese, not flavorful enough to call it authentic Chinese. There’s almost no refill.Service is lacking, once you’re seated, you have to try hard to get someone’s attention to order or for any kind of need. They missed a lot of items we ordered as well. Had to remind them 3 times, but once they were here, I wished we never reminded them, the portion’s extremely tiny. For example, a dish called “mixed seafood, meatballs plater” came in a dipping sauce sized bowl with 5 pieces of fish balls inside lol.Tips are automatically included, only good thing service wise was the lady in the end reminded us that tips are already included. It’s definitely too much mandatory tip for the service we got. Owner should remove this to incentivize employees to actually provide services to paying customers.Overall, not a restaurant I’d come again.

Everyone was great, and I enjoyed the food, though the ramen was extremely salty for some reason. We didn't end up trying their hot pot this time, and I still want to go back and try that.

Waitress didn’t do anything to deserve a tip than gets an attitude when she receives one that isn’t half the price of the meal. She failed to mention the gratuity was already incorporated into the bill. Plenty of better places to eat in China

Nice quiet place on a Saturday afternoon. Food was okay, don’t recommend the gyoza(not much flavor) but the Szechuan and Veggie Curry broths were great, the combos are very highly recommend. Service was great, our waters were always filled and they helped us(without having to ask) with the settings on our hot pot.

I don’t have a good experience with the service. Most of the staff that work there seem like they hate their jobs so much. They don’t even put on a smile. It doesn’t give me a good vibe. First time here and definitely last time!!! Food is below average for me compared other Chinese restaurants (we don’t order hot pot).

Staffs are very rude and force you to pay the high tips without a good service. It was shocked for the poor food quality. The frozen meatballs are very cheap, other stores offer the fresh meatball.Same as other reviewers, no one came to refill the broth.

I love Hot Pot but somehow never got around to eating here until now. Beef was stale, you have to wave down staff every time to get something because they’re too busy watching tik toks, plus our particular waitress had an attitude and gave overall just bad vibes. There’s a LOT of restaurants nearby with better food and attentive staff, I’ll never be coming here again.

Stumbled into this place by accident after the theatre. We are all starving. It is quaint from the outside but opens up once inside. Once you get the hang of ordering, the food is fantastic and plentiful. Service was excellent. I’ll be back for sure.

i am not one to write reviews howeverBoyfriend and I had just left a concert and our favorite hot pot was closed. this was in close proximity and we figured "why not" since it looked nice. we were immediately seated and given a menu however it felt like nearly 15 minutes until someone came over to check on us. after given our food, we were not checked on by any servers. woman who i'm assuming is an owner was watching everyone and looked miserable. my broth had almost been completely empty and was not refilled until we had nearly finished our food. something was stuck to the bottom of the pot well, creating a burnt taste. food was good enough but expensive, small portions of meat yet huge of everything else. will not be returning solely due to slow staff even though there was all of 4 other parties (with only 2-3 people) there. a group of regulars came in halfway through our meal and were immediately given better service. automatic gratuities added to check too, wonder why.

We are regulars at this place and have easily been here 50+ times over the years. The last time we visited we had a bad experience with a server there who tried to haggle us for a larger tip. We tipped him 20% as we do to servers every time we come. I do know know how he did not understand the amount we were giving him as it was explained several times, but he began to then loudly ask us only $2 tip in the dining room in front of the other customers. I do not feel as though it’s a servers place to feel entitled for a tip, regardless of the amount given. Especially given that we have spent a large amount of money frequenting this place and have even come more than once a week. I do not appreciate their treatment of lifetime customers and I would hope that management rectifies this issue in order to retain loyal customers. We have not been back in a few weeks due to this issue.

Really nice spot to stop after a cold day of running around. Great pork hot pot and friendly staff. Delicious pan fried gyoza.

The old women waiter is rude. If the tip is less than 18%, she will say bad words and behaving rudely. Awful chinese restaurant!

On a late chilly night in Boston, this place is a good stop to clear your sinuses and get your spicy broth fix. The meat combo was a good deal. Enjoyed the food with my two sons. The two waiters were spread thin and the wait was a bit long.
