Phenomenal!!! Great little spot that is close to BU's campus / Fenway. It's relatively quick, has great service, and fantastic homemade noodles! Decently priced for a meal that felt like home.

absolutely loved this resturant. it is a sister resturant to futago udon right next door and the service is just as wonderful. eating the mazesoba truly is an experience - the combination of the flavors of the runny egg yolk and the umami flavors of the sauce is wonderful. you can also add vinegar to your noodles to change up the taste which I find fantastic. yuzu mazesoba was light, acidic, and refreshing. portion is just right. after you finish your noodles the leftover sauce is eaten with a free scoop of rice. just a wonderful resturant!

Foods not bad, but service wasn't good. I walked in the restaurant with my partner. There were two normal tables and five window bar seats. I asked for a table. The server told me all tables are reserved. He forced me to take window bar seats. Three minutes later. Two girls walked in they also put them on window bar' seats. Then two guys without any questions they got the table. There aren't any open window bar seats available. So he has to put two guys on the regular table. What server does. He's lying and Server has no smile. It seems like I killed their family or something. He's lucky I gave him tips with this kind of service.

Another wonderful noodle shop in Boston. All their noodle dishes are mazesoba which means brothless ramen. We ordered chicken wings, Ankimo, cheese mazesoba and Hokkaido Don. For mazesoba, after I finished my noodle, they gave me a small bowl of rice which also went very well with the sauce. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. Highly recommended!

Man the food here was amazing I love the Thai spicy MazeSoba. The texture of the noodles were perfect and the sauce was so flavorful. The hamachi sushi roll was also a must and was delicious. At the end of your bowl you get a bowl of rice to finish your sauce. The service was great the waiters were attentive and friendly. Inside was very beautiful the art was cool and I love the colors of the restaurant. The noodles were a bit pricey but it was worth it.

The place was brand new and clean. We ate Yuzu mazesoba. It tastes healther than I expected but still we could enjoy the tender fat of meat. Will be back and have syoyu next time!

Great service with wonderful staff, amazing atmosphere with unique silverware and bowls, and great bang for your buck in terms of taste and quality. I am so glad I discovered this place and will be coming here more frequent for a mazesoba bowl or a delicious Hokkaido don.

This place is superb - in service, food, presentation and general atmosphere! The noodles are made fresh in-house every day ? Every time a friend or family comes to visit, we love to take them here. I highly recommend the shoyu mazesoba or the mentaiko one (its creamier but not heavy at all). The sausage is also very yummy (roasted to perfection ?) as well as the japanese apple juice! If you have room in your stomach at the end, the passionfuit panna cotta is so refreshing and a great way to end your meal. It's so good that I selfishly almost don't want the place to get too famous and the waiting in line becomes too intense ??FYI There are two bathrooms (very clean and spacious) and they're pretty accommodating to strollers.

Got the Yuzu Shio. Noodle cooked well, absorbs the flavor really well, the immediate yuzu flavor is so fragrant and nice. Seaweed also adds a nice fragrance. The fresh veg and light spiciness from the onions balance the heaviness from the pork. The pork is seasoned a little strongly which works perfectly when eaten together, had a nice char scent, but uses a tougher cut of meat that is easier and still soft to eat when manually shredded. The vinegar adds a gentle fragrance. The 고추가루 doesnt really add much to the flavor initially but fills up the mouth with its spice at the end. Comes with about complementary rice (about 4 spoonfuls) that you mix with the leftover sauces. Overall creamy with nice fragrances that mix well together.

Lots of seating, very nice and clean. The service was quick and the staff are very efficient. Had the shoyu mazesoba. Great presentation, they weren't stingy with the toppings and veggies. For those who don't like that "eggy" taste (like me), you really can't taste it. Soy sauce flavors very strong and bold. Overall, I really loved it.

This cute, new Japanese restaurant is a great addition to the Brookline/Fenway area. This was our first time trying mazesoba (brothless Japanese ramen). We ordered the Curry Cheese Mazesoba and the Yuzu Shio. Both were delicious! The Curry Cheese wasn't overwhelmingly cheesy, and the Yuzu Shio was refreshingly bright. The noodles here are chewy and springy, and there was a myriad of textures in each bite from the runny egg, juicy pork chashu, and crunchy vegetables. I wish it came with more noodles and meat, as there were only three pieces of pork chashu in each bowl. However, it's nice that they offer a free, mini bowl of rice towards the end of your meal to mix with the leftover sauce. Be prepared to wait for a table! The restaurant is quite small, and we waited around 30 minutes on a Friday evening around dinner rush. Once seated, the servers are attentive and the food comes out quickly.

New type of noodle bowl! Mazesoba, so you get to mix different ingredients on the spot or take it to go. Very refreshing and they make the noodle themselves:))!

I walked by here a few weeks ago on a rainy day and it was empty despite people waiting outside Futago next door, and took a look at the menu to see that everything was so expensive! Like average $30++! A few days passed and I checked google to see that there was excellent 5 star reviews despite the expensive price which was reassuring, it seemed like the food here was actually worth the price. Now, after trying, I'd agree! At least, for the specific order I got: cheese mazesoba with added chashu and kabocha. I'm not a big noodle person because I always think there's too much noodles for the amount of topping, but the ratio of this bowl with extra toppings was much better! I know you're supposed to mix everything together but I like my foods separate and my brain was so happy being able to try different combos of toppings together. Half the bowl was cheesier, where the creamy egg topped with grated cheese sat, and the other half was more meaty, where the ground pork and chashu sat. I'm so glad I got the chashu because the spicy ground pork was dry and pebbly, but the chashu was so tender and cut thick. Paired with the egg, cheese sauce, and noodles, it was comforting and rich like carbonara! Our waitress auntie was kind enough to add some kabocha despite not being listed on the menu as an add on, and I was so happy it was the starchy kind of kabocha that became even creamier with the cheese sauce, I think they even had some salty marinade on it since it was darker than usual! You get a little free bowl of rice to soak up the sauce, which I thought was a better base with the cheese mazesoba toppings than the noodles even. The vinegar on the table added freshness but wasn't as acidic as I expected. The noodles were chewy but not a jaw workout, which has been the case when I got mazemen in the past. I had bites of my friends' bowls, but definitely still preferred the cheese bowl and don't think I would have enjoyed my experience had I gotten a different order. The tan tan ramen was very nutty / hot pot sesame sauce, the mentaiko has a citrusy profile, and the curry cheese is like a mild curry / not super cheesy. They incorrectly brought out a yuzu mazesoba instead of tan tan (and forgot to take it off the bill) but our server was memorizing 5 orders so I can't blame her, and the correct tan tan order came out so fast I wouldn't have known they forgot it! The space is clean, small but efficient and our party of 5 was able to be seated quickly! I've been thinking about this cheesy bowl of noodles for the past 24 hours which is abnormal for me lol. It would be ideal if it came with chashu instead of the ground pork and kabocha on top so it doesn't end up costing $30. But if it must be $30, it's a $30 well spent!

Overall: noodle shop after noodle shop popping up one next to the other. This spot fills yet another niche with exceptional quality and flavor. Its downfall is the popular BU area location driving its price point above a comfortable level. Food: the 3 bowls we ordered all initially look the same, but are drastically different in flavor. The yuzu shio is exactly that tangy light summer flavor perfect for a hot summer day. The curry cream has that heavy winter warmer spice flavor with its rich cream. (Didn't try the 3rd bowl). The noodle are the hefty thick style soba noodles with a nice firm chew. The toppings included added immensely to the experience with the light greens the poached egg and the pork. The main knock is the price point coming in at a whopping $20 give or take. The quantity of noodles feels slightly underwhelming but they make up for it with a dollop of rice. All things considered worth giving a try to see if you'd like it!
