I have been to all locations of LSF except this one. What a horrible experience! We booked the reservation and arrived 20 minutes early but the host declined to sit us even though there were plenty of tables empty. I order a shellfish tower with no oysters. I asked for substitute with shrimp and they replaced it with two shrimp. No bread and when I asked, the host replied they are out of bread. I was so infuriated I just ordered a few stuff and finished the pathetic experience. I will not visit this location ever.
Gianna was wonderful!!! She was able to connect with us and attend other customers. Angela was such a great manager. Wonderful. Kind.. and such a pleasant personality. We will come back because of Angela and Gianna. Oh by the way.. food was delicious.
Very good food but high prices
At this moment Legal is rated at 4.2, which is a gift. Totally incompetent kitchen and manager. Table for 7 and 2 of 7 entrees were correct and hot. Everything else was totally botched. They couldn't cook a steak. Not even close and returned to the kitchen 2x. 3rd, time finally. 5 entrees cold sides either missing or cold. Absolutely cannot recommend this Legal location. Hopefully the others are better.
We usually love Legal Seafoods but our visit to this location was severely lacking. There were multiple mishaps with the salad dressing for the salad I ordered (they gave me just olive oil in a cup, twice). My fiancé’s buttered lobster roll came with no butter on the lobster or on the side. In general, the food was really not good, and I went home as hungry as I arrived. Our server tried her best to help out which we really appreciated.
Our dinner was almost $200 for two people. The food was ok, not great, nothing to write home about. Husband said his was bland, my side of corn was the best thing I had (ordered the swordfish). It was enough food for dinner, but not 200 dollars good. If anything, it was disappointing. Wont be back for that price, based on what we got.
My family, party size of 8, were staying in Boston over Memorial Day weekend and this was the worst food experience we had the entire trip.
I must preface that there are two parts to this review: a service aspect and a food aspect.
Food wise- it is not worth spending your money to eat what they gave us. Presentation was out of this world. Serving kids popcorn chicken inside a popcorn bucket- uh YES!!!! How cool?! Not worth it though in the long run. Everyone in our party except the 7 year old didn’t like the food. The steak was supposed to be rare, the fish was fishy and dry, and no one’s plate really tasted all that good. It looked good, but just wasn’t good for the amount of money spent or the caliber in which the restaurant marketed.
Ambiance wise, the place we were seated felt like a private corner and the place is decorated nicely.
Service wise- it could have been better…. The waitress did NOT ask us if the checks were seperste and then complained when we asked for the check to be separate. Now I try to give my servers a little extra grace, but even if you’re having a bad day- you shouldn’t take it out on your customers. Our waters were also running out and my family probably would have ordered more drinks if she would have checked in more often. My grace to that is the woman was obviously very busy tending to other people which is why we decided to just do one check at our own inconvenience to spare her.
Final thoughts: I wouldn’t eat here simply because the food is expensive but isn’t tasty, but hey at least the place looked amazing.
Brought my friend here for the first time to try the chain while in Boston, with the impression that this was a popular and well-credited establishment. The appetizers we ordered were not good at all (tuna nachos in particular were horrible), and the drinks weren’t good either. The reason we came in the first place was for the lobster mac and cheese, but the server completely forgot about it. We didn’t care to remind her because the appetizers were extremely sub par and not worth the price at all. I would highly recommend finding another place to dine. This chain has gone downhill over the years, and are there are numerous other great seafood restaurants in the area that will be much more worth your time and money.

A visit to Legal Sea Foods is almost mandatory whenever we visit the Boston area. They never disappoint, and our latest visit was even better than most for two reasons. First, they had a special promotion on a steamed lobster dinner (oh yeah!). Plus, the service and suggestions from our server Martin made this visit exceptional. Get the Boston Cream Pie for dessert!! Thank you Martin, and great job Legal Sea Foods!

My friend had scallops, mashed potatoes and a side salad and really enjoyed her meal. I had a lobster tail and a California roll. They have many GF items on their menu and are very accommodating and careful around dietary restrictions. The service was so fantastic. Omar was our server. Thank you, Legal!
Excellent food! Excellent service! Maria was our waitress and she was fantastic. Not only gave us great recommendations on what to order, but was super sweet to our daughter, and even gave us general recommendations for Boston. The ambience was also nice. It was a little loud but not in a bad way. There was good music playing, people laughing and enjoying their time out together, just fun overall. Would definitely go back!
This is my second special= lobster last month and oysters this month. I made a reservation which was readily found when I checked in. When my friend arrived a later, the res could not be found. He had to wander the restaurant to find me. The raw oysters were superb! Wonderful warm rolls. The oysters Rockefeller were cooked to death - almost sent them back the service was not good - I had to ask THREE times for another carafe of Albarino. (delish!) The bartender, our waiter, finally stated he needed to get another bottle from the wine cellar. That should have been rectified during start of his shift inventory. Or he should have asked a manager for assistance as he was busy.
