I went there for lunch and was so disappointed! The new menu describes about 5 expensive undesirable items. Nothing looked good except the potato chips and a small garden salad for $17.00. I've never seen such a small menu!! The sunny setting was great and the service was good.

We were refused entry into the restaurant. It was after 6 pm and the Garden Cafe had closed. We were exhausted after walking in the museum (closes at 10 pm on Fridays) and we wanted to have some coffee. When we asked, they said they have coffee but they will only serve coffee if we have dinner. They were aware that the garden cafe had closed but still told us to go there and said we cannot just have coffee there. It was extremely disappointing and made the overall experience at the museum frustrating. We saw other people have post dinner coffee and the cafe was also not busy.

Good food, small servings, and a bit pric. Given that, the possibility to have prosecco and real food inside of the museum is worth it. A nice way to relax and continue with the visit.

Grand atmosphere. Very comfortable temperatures given such a large open space with 3 floors high of glass windows in winter. Quick service and food was good. It was our highlight of the day. Got the Angus burger, chicken sandwich and cherry tart.

I got the ham toast here and was so pleasantly surprised with how it came out. It was topped with loads of prosciutto (not sure why it was advertised as ham) and tasted really great! The service didn't take too long even though it was packed because we went on a free museum admission day. The ambiance is lovely in the museum, only complaint is that a DJ came in and started bumping music half way through our lunch. It felt a bit out of place and detracted from the nice ambiance

Lovely open space, nice menu, a bit pricey lunch but worth it. We waited from 1155-1215 on a Friday to seat a party of four. Good service, our beverages, sandwiches, and salad with chicken came quickly. Line was extensive at 1230pm. We conversed easily given the open space even though the café was full and there was a long line.

nice spot to grab a cocktail in the middle of your museum visit. service was excellent and the drinks were delish! pics are of the french lavender cocktail and peach bellini. it can be a bit loud + chaotic bc it's in such a busy, open spot, but it's nice for a quick drink.

?Today I came to feel the influence of art with my friends?️Come to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and feast your eyes on it?I even got a surprise restaurant? This restaurant is inside the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston~Like a surprise box??Environment: It is very unique and different from other restaurants. The large space restaurant is unique and gives people a super atmospheric feeling~ It is also full of artistic atmosphere~ The decorations in the store are also very unique! ! I really like this kind of environment~ I feel like I have a great appetite when I eat in this kind of environment??Meal: We ordered a pizza ? a salad ? and a roast chicken ? The portion of each dish was quite sufficient~ I ordered it with the intention of giving it a try, but I didn’t expect that the salad tasted amazing ? The fresh vegetables are paired with secret sauce, as well as grilled and crispy croutons ? and meat ? The texture is super rich in one bite! ! The meat of the grilled chicken is very tender and delicious? The meat is also more flavorful, and the skin is the most delicious part~The cheese on the pizza? is the kind that can be drawn! Moreover, this cheese does not have a weird taste, it has a relatively positive taste ~ a very fragrant milky flavor??When you have time to visit the art museum, you can give it a try~ It really feels good?

Food was ok, service was awful. I would give the place no stars if it was possible. I had to flag my waiter for water, to place an order, to get the check. When I got the check, it was for the wrong order. What a complete waste of time and money.

The New American Café in the atrium of the Museum of Fine Arts has a new menu as of Wednesday. And what a menu it is.We had the Japanese Eggplant (lightly prepared with a nicely spiced black bean purée) and Farmer’s Vegetable Tart (a light vegetable-filled quiche). For dessert, we had Maple Crème Caramel and Pumpkin Cheesecake. Both were good with nice fall flavors.I can’t comment on the other items on the menu. However, all of the food I saw on other tables looked fresh and well made. The pizza looked especially appetizing as did the chips. The chips are made in house.Don’t be discouraged by a line to enter. It moves quickly.

Located in the courtyard of Museum of Fine Art in Boston. Food is very tasty. Service very good. Prices as expected in a restaurant in museum.

My wife and I had a light lunch here on Monday the last week of September 2023 while visiting the Boston Museum of Fine Art. We had spent 2.5 hours walking the museum and needed both rest and sustenance. NAC provided both. We ordered an eggplant capreze panini to share and then a cranberry mousse to split as dessert. The panini was wonderful and satisfying, a very different set of flavors well blended together. The mousse was exquisite. We drank only water, but found the sitting and the meal restorative. The ambiance in this lovely dining room was also soothing and wonderful. Service was timely and friendly, although the one oddity was that at 1:00 pm when we were seated and after our split order for a panini was in, our server pointedly reminded us that we could only stay until 3:45 when the cafe closes. Did she think we were homeless, despite our clothes? Has she been told to discourage people who split meals from staying at the table (even though there were plenty of tables available at that point)? Just don't know. We did not let it harsh our mellow, however, and we enjoyed a very nice lunch. We noticed that she was much more relaxed when, after finishing our panini we ordered a dessert to split. Our bill with 20% tip ran $39, which is a bit pricy, but not unexpected in a museum cafe. We felt it was a good enough value and would happily pay it again to sample their menu.
