New American Cafe Reviews
Amazing service from the staff and gentleman at the bar. Very polite, professional and attentive!
It's saying a lot, given all the MFA has to offer, but lunch in the New American Cafe is always one of the highlights of my visit to this museum. First, the space is breathtaking. Food, beverages, and service are all consistently excellent. There is almost always seating available without a wait. Make a point of sitting somewhere with a good view of the spectacular Chihuly sculpture. There's something about it that just makes my day.
Nice food and vibe!

The New American Cafe provides a pleasant dining experience inside the Museum of Fine Arts. The restaurant features a grand atmosphere with comfortable temperatures and attractive surroundings. The food is generally good, with options that cater to various dietary needs, including vegetarian dishes like the winter tart and coconut crispy tofu, which are highly praised. The service is usually quick, though some reviews mention that staff can be somewhat indifferent or lack warmth. Diners can enjoy popular selections such as the Angus burger, chicken sandwich, cherry tart, and ham toast with prosciutto. The ambiance may be plain and uninspired, and the space has minimal decoration, which can feel disappointing. Music choices, like rap artists, might not always fit the vibe and could affect the overall experience. Prices tend to be a bit high, but the chance to relax and enjoy a quality meal during a museum visit makes it worthwhile. Overall, it’s a convenient spot for a quick bite, offering good food and a comfortable setting, even if the ambiance and service are not exceptional.
