They bump the best playlists, joke with you, discuss taste preferences, honor allergies, and are actually excited to provide a good dining experience. It's truly a neighborhood gem that I want to gatekeep so badly but will not because everyone deserves this level of stellar dining and the team here deserves to succeed! The food is funky with a heavy focus on fermentation along with honing culinary techniques from around the world without trying to put out “Asian food” or “Latin cuisine” or “fusion”, just their own creations. They make spirits in house (turns out I can like vermouth!) and source wines from places most others restaurants don’t dare to cover. It’s where I bring all my visitors if I can snag a table!“

“This place is great and the food was fantastic. We are very much a foodie family with different tastes so we were looking for a place that would hit everyones tastebuds. We arrived and departed by lyft since we were staying at a local hotel(there is a designated pick-up/drop—off area which helps a lot). They have a variety of different eateries, I think two bars, a couple of huge screens which that night was showing the awards. For a cold Sunday night, it was pretty lively. The best part in my opinion (besides the food) was that you can scan the QR code and order straight from your table for anyone of the places and either do counter pickup or have it delivered to you. The app works wonderfully and seamless even with multiple orders; you receive a text when your order is ready. The kids ordered some donuts (not pictured) from Union Square which they enjoyed. We honestly didn’t have any complaints.“

We were served salmon mousse and lobster salad small sandwiches that would have been superb had they been on a lighter bread. All the other tea sandwiches were fabulous (egg salad, cucumber, and a mini roast beef in Yorkshire pudding) Scone with Devonshire cream and lemon curd was great and desserts were scrumptious. Individual pots of tea from a varied selection of teas rounded out our meal. I particularly appreciated the tea service - generous, hot, warmed milk if you take milk, "one lump or two" ?. They gave us a seat by the door, which was appreciated and the service to the food was hitting on all marks. The one thing I hold back from giving a 5 star review on is that we were dying of heat -- it felt like we were eating in a sauna. I'm not sure if it was because they didn't turn on the AC or if we just had an unfortunate seat that wasn't receiving any of that cool air. Right from the start, they made us feel welcomed and accommodated us with ease, despite the size of our group. They had a great little back corner of the bar set aside for us, we were treated to chips, salsa, and guacamole, which set the tone for the amazing meal to come. It's not something you find just anywhere, and it's a must-try for anyone visiting Monument. And let's talk about the chicken sliders – they were absolutely delicious! But the item that stood out the most was the TRUFFLE FRIES. Best truffle fries Ive had in a very long time. “The desert, campfire brownies, was merely good. That was the ONLY quibble of the evening. Ambiance? Impeccably glamorous, down to the textured walls, but still a bit cheeky and fun due to the speakeasy style entrance. Cocktails? Complex, interesting, and strong - Bijou, SVD, Espresso Martini, and Irish Coffee were all on point. Service? Attentive without being overbearing, team service at it's best. Steaks? Both the Ribeye and NY strip were perfectly cooked and meltingly delicious, enhanced by the herbed butter served on top and the house demiglace. Bone marrow? Just perfect, the onion jam is the right counterpoint to its richness. Mac and Cheese? On point. Bread and butter? The butter... how do they make something as simple as seasoned whipped butter this magical... who cares, they just do, just eat it. It's not a cheap dinner but isn't at all overpriced for what it is. This place is a gem, you should make a reservation today.“

I went in knowing it was pricey and upscale which was fitting for the special occasion. Let me just say we had an absolutely incredible night. We had a larger party and Yasmin helped me plan the event and accommodated all of us. The hostess was even in on the surprise as she pretended to seat us for 2 when we arrived. Anthony was our server and he was so incredibly patient and fun and very very efficient. He and Yasmin made this a night to remember and I was able to relax knowing that everything was being taken care of behind the scenes. We were even given a private room which we did not expect at all and that made our experience that much better. The food and atmosphere were just so great and so special. We will be coming back for sure and recommend Ocean Prime to anyone who is looking to have more of fancy/upscale experience in the Seaport. It was perfection!“

“Great addition to the neighborhood. Worth anywait time. The staff was very friendly knowledgeable, gave great recommendations. I started with a vanilla ice coffee. So good. Not to sweet at all. For my meal I got a special which was gouda grits, cant remember the name if the steak tips and a over easy egg. When I tell you this is so mouth watering. All the flavors together was perfect. The owner even came around talking to patrons which I felt gave it an even more home feeling touch.“

“We were in town from Jersey for a volleyball tournament. The General Manager, Mike, was so nice and accommodated our party of 34. We had an outstanding server, Maya, who was so sweet! The food was delicious and the Dads in the group especially LOVED the stuffed Buffalo Chicken app!If we stay in Cambridge next year we would definitely go back!“

“Stopped by for a drink and some darts this afternoon while wandering around Boston. Fantastic, friendly spot. The bartender even gave my girlfriend her last mozza stick as we were leaving. Does it get more friendly than that? Fully recommend for anyone looking for a chill spot to drink nice beer and relax. Thanks!“

“We chose this spot because it was a short walk from our hotel on a nasty cold March evening. Totally expected pub food. Totally wrong. Totally relieved. Service was great. Guacamole appetizer very good though very oniony but hubs loved it. We ordered and shared Caprese Salad with heirloom tomatoes and Lobster Mac and Cheese. Tomatoes in Caprese were wonderful and ripe. Mozzarella yummy. Lobster Mac and cheese was rich but so delicious and stayed piping hot in the little casserole dish while we polished off the salad. What a totally unexpectedly scrumptious meal! Atmosphere great n this sports bar also.“

“We had a reservation for Easter brunch, and upon arrival saw that the bar was empty, so we decided to sit there instead. Friendly bartender greeted us and offered drinks promptly. Ordered an asparagus strudel off the brunch specials, and it was outstanding. We both got the scrambled egg plate for our mains. The plate came out looking great except the bacon was not cooked. Just limp bacon not living up to its potential. I would've told the bartender but he never came over to check on us after our food was dropped. Would come back and try a meal again though.“

Pinky's

Pinky's Cocktail Bar • $$
269 Newbury St, Boston

“I got to Pinky's on a cold Friday evening around 6, expecting the usual rush of after work folks, but surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded. The interior was aesthetically decorated, with just the right kind of lighting that allows for meaningful conversations at tables and the bar. The music choice was great in my opinion, thought at times it got too lively, which made it hard to resist bobbing my head to the music - distracting me from the conversations. The volume was another minor hiccup; it was louder than I would have liked and made it hard to hear others. The cocktails were priced at around $15 each which is pretty standard for the area. It feels extravagant, akin to spending one and a half Chipotle bowls on a single drink is brutal, but they were well-crafted. You'd expect nothing less for that price though, right? As for food, I got the brussels sprouts. There were decent but not as good as the drinks. They left a sharper than expected tang as an aftertaste, which was interesting but didn't quite hit the mark. I do wish they had a more roasted texture, but they were a bit soft. The service was straightforward and efficient. Nothing much to say to the good people that did great at their job. The experience was solidly good. It's the kind of outing you'd expect on Newbury - pricey, but you're paying for the ambiance, location, and vibes.“

What a great dinner option to know about in the neighborhood of beacon Hill. Hoping to come back for that. Pumpkin ravioli! The avocado steak salad was phenomenal.“
