“We had an incredible experience at Grill 23 & Bar — easily the best steakhouse we’ve been to in Boston. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food was phenomenal. We ordered both the filet mignon and the ribeye, and each steak was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and truly outstanding. The sides were just as memorable — the macaroni and cheese was rich and comforting, the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared, and the mashed potatoes were smooth and delicious. Adding the Béarnaise sauce on the side was absolutely worth it and paired beautifully with the steaks. Dessert was the perfect ending: warm chocolate chip cookies served with vanilla ice cream — simple, classic, and done flawlessly. A huge highlight of the evening was our waiter, Bernardo. We will absolutely be requesting him on future visits. He offered thoughtful suggestions, anticipated our needs effortlessly, and somehow managed to be there exactly when we needed him — and never when we didn’t, if that makes sense. “Dining in a cozy yurt surrounded by freshly fallen snow was fun winter experience for our family. Great ambiance, and the food and service were exceptional. Highly recommend for a unique and memorable outing!“

“I came to the Hummus Shop for a quick lunch before heading to a flight.

It’s a fairy hidden place, but there’s a sign on the street — you just have to go down the hallway. It’s a cozy spot with limited seating.

It was my first time here and the person working at the front was very helpful in ordering and walking me through the menu. They have a few main options based on their proteins. I got a pita with the eggplant. It was great!!! They were very flexible in making this vegan by replacing the egg with a couple of falafels.

Great food to go and it was delicious as well, the sauces were especially good. It was messy to eat but that’s what makes it fun!

Would definitely recommend, I hope to be back to try the vegan “chicken” as well.“

Absolutely outstanding brick oven pizza! We ordered five different pizzas and a charcuterie board for a group of eight, and we destroyed every last slice. Crisp, delicious, and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend this place.“

I was anticipating an amazing wagyu beef burger given the $35 price tag, but it was very ordinary and forgettable. It was cooked well-done even though I asked for medium-well, and it had absolutely no flavor, not even a hint of salt and pepper. The fries were dry and not very good either. But the corn bread was absolutely delightful and probably some of the best I’ve ever had, and the pita bread with hummus and pimento cheese was delicious, as well. Overall, about 4 stars considering the appetizers saved the day, as the wagyu burger was a flop.“

“My wife and I were celebrating mother’s days, and just have to say OUTSTANDING!!!! We had for the first course the escargot & beef carpaccio, probably the best escargots we ever had.
For main course we order the sirloin & the duck, really generous portion and full of taste, highly recommend to try the duck, we loved the risotto.
And, for dessert we got the Valhorna lava cake with pistachio ice cream, just a pice of art!!!
Louis was our server, absolutely attentive and friendly, we went above and beyond to make sure my wife’s had an incredible night, now we understand why the restaurant has been open for almost 30 years. Is definitely an example of high quality fine dining

WE FINALLY WENT, THE MINUTE I WALKED IN THE PERSON AT CASHIER SAID WHEN YOUR READY TO ORDER YOU COME HERE, BLINDED BY IT AS IS A RESTAURANT NOT A FAST FOOD SPOT I LOOKED AT HER AND ASK FOR THE MENU SHE LOOKS AT ME AND POINTS INFRONT OF HER TO GO GET IT MIND YOU, THERE ARE 3 OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND HER WHO WORK THERE .....I LET IT PASS AND TRIED TO GIVE THIS PLACE A SECOND CHANCE COMING BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK AS THE FOOD ACTUALLY WAS GOOD THE WEEK PRIOR. “Food: I thought the broth rivaled a lot of other popular options in Chinatown/Allston. The spicy options were my favorite and complemented many of the options well. I thought the sauce bar was decent but not as extensive as some other places.

Service: mostly self-serve off an iPad - they won't check up too often.

Atmosphere: I appreciate the lanterns and the booths in the back. Will come out and sing for birthdays too which seems to be popular.

Overall: quality across the menu is great, and the soup bases are possibly my favorite in Boston. Can be a bit more expensive than other AYCE options, but generally worth it for the quality.“
