“A treasure of a restaurant on busy Cambridge St - walk through the door and you’re in a different world. Servers quickly become friends. Great spot for a romantic dinner for two but still a place where a solo diner feels welcome. Wonderful menu with choices for the adventurous and not so adventurous eater. “Food: I thought the broth rivaled a lot of other popular options in Chinatown/Allston. The spicy options were my favorite and complemented many of the options well. I thought the sauce bar was decent but not as extensive as some other places.

Service: mostly self-serve off an iPad - they won't check up too often.

Atmosphere: I appreciate the lanterns and the booths in the back. Will come out and sing for birthdays too which seems to be popular.

Overall: quality across the menu is great, and the soup bases are possibly my favorite in Boston. Can be a bit more expensive than other AYCE options, but generally worth it for the quality.“

“The quality and presentation of the food was top notch. We were incredibly impressed by the dining room layout and staff. If you are looking for a place to propose to your significant other… this is NOT the appropriate place. As I mentioned the food was the finest I’ve ever had; however, the music was terrible. We felt like we were in a 1990’s discotheque. The music was loud, very heavy beat and not remotely romantic. We did mention to our waitstaff and they attempted to get it turned down to no avail. No coffee or dessert available either. I understand space is limited; however you have two of the finest dessert businesses well within walking distance. Even if you only carry two desserts. I would still go back there for the food with the hopes of different music…even soft jazz would be acceptable.“

“In the heart of the South End, Toro is serving up Spanish-style Tapas in a great atmosphere with high quality service.

We made a reservation outdoors, but because of rain they were kind enough to accommodate and moved us to an indoor table. Our waiter, Michael, was so helpful in explaining the menu and giving recommendations, as this was our first time eating Tapas.

For the uninitiated, like we were, Tapas is small, shareable plates. They have a wide variety to choose from! We ended up getting Street Corn, Grilled Shrimp, Fried Potatoes served up “Bomb Style” with Pork Belly, sauces and fried egg, Cod Croquettes, and Steak. We were pleased by every choice!

Our total with 6 orders, tax and tip was $150.“

They were very accommodating, humorous, and well equipped to handle large groups of people while keeping their attention. We liked the experience and would go back.“

“This place was fun!!!! I've been here twice now, I'm from out of town, and realized I hadn't reviewed it yet.
The outdoor patio is a bit small and can get crowded but it's a nice spot when the weather is cooperative. Inside seating is larger than it looks so walk around until you can find a spot. The beer is very good and there is a wide range of styles to choose from. The food is actually a good compliment to the beer given the weird, off the shelf system they use to make it. Highly recommend.“

“Might be controversial - but I think this is the best Italian in Boston! The off menu chicken parm is so delicious and the marina is somehow light while the chicken always comes out crispy. Every single pasta I’ve gotten is delicious and fresh. I also love the appetizer eggplant Parmesan (although it does take about 20 minutes to make). The wine’s by the glass are fantastic and have something for everyone. Just love this place - I’m definitely a regular!“

“Levain Bakery was a great stop! The latte was very aromatic, smooth, and delicious. The location was nice, walkable, and had a social feel, which made it a great place to stop by and enjoy a treat.

They had a lot of tasty bakery options, and everything looked fresh and delicious. The staff were also friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.

Overall, Levain Bakery is a great spot for a good latte, delicious baked treats, and a nice atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.“
