“This place does not miss. I have been here many times for friends birthdays, anniversaries or family dinners and they are always extraordinary. The wait staff is professional, the drinks taste amazing (but are still strong), and the steak is some of the best I have ever had. The bread is always fresh that they bring to the table and the side are all very tasty. I highly recommend the tomahawk steak and a dirty martini from this place. A match made in heaven.“
“The crème brûlée is BOMB! And so are all the sides, and the tiramisu! NY Strip and the ribeye were also pretty good! Lovely ambiance and GREAT service. Service is surprisingly fast, as well, at least at lunchtime. I usually eat at the bar.“
“If you love seafood you will love this place. A foodie delight. Savory donuts with halibut butter was insanely delicious. Creative genius shoes in each plate. Complex, layered flavors keep you wanting more. Great value for quantity and quality of food. I will be back soon!“
“First off, the service throughout our meal was exceptional. Atmosphere of the restaurant is also quite nice for an upscale seafood joint. The seafood itself was phenomenal - fresh and of high quality. Actual entrees fell just a bit flat, however, though we loved our visit.“
“Great food as always, I have been here multiple times and never disappointedWe started with some fresh oysters, tuna crudo ),ceviche tacos , chicken slidersWe also had warm lobster roll, and oysters p’boy, finally we got the whole grilled fishEverything was delicious and super tastyHard to pick a favorite , if you want delicious seafood this place is a must visitFood: excellentPortion: greatCustomer service: excellent.Ambiance: casual and relaxed.Prices: $$$Cleanliness: excellentParking: street parking“
“Being my first time in Boston, I had to eat a lobster roll and I was told this was the place to do it. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The lobster roll bread was soft yet toasty and buttery. The lobster that was inside the roll was very meaty and packed lots of flavor. One of my friends ordered the fish and chips, and he said it was delicious. When he pulled apart his fish, you could see the beautiful flaky layers inside. I had another friend that ordered one of the fish, he said it tasted amazing. And not gonna lie, it looked pretty cool to have a whole fish like that at the table. Also, (Not in any of the pictures) But the chowder was the best clam chowder I have ever tasted! Kudos to the Chef!“
“A notable destination for Mediterranean seafood fares in the heart of Back Bay.Recently took a visit for dinner. Set against a backdrop of a modern lounge vibe, complete with high ceilings, Porto seemed like an ideal spot for date nights. As advertised, their menu featured a blend of Italian pasta and Mediterranean seafood dishes. We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. It was a decent appetizer that aligned with the typical offerings of a modern Italian restaurant. Its seasoning was a tad overbearing, but it still set a nice tone for the meal. From their pasta selections, we opted for theWild Mushroom Mafalde and the Wild Boar Cocoa Pappardelle. The Pappardelle boasted a tender boar ragu with umami from Manchego, but it unfortunately suffered from a lack of cohesion. The pasta itself was slightly undercooked and lacked depth in flavor, failing to fully harmonize with the ragu. On the other hand, the Mafalde was enjoyable. The combination of garlic butter and Aleppo pepper introduced a welcomed acidity, and the interplay of textures between the al dente Mafalde and the succulent mushrooms was particularly satisfying. The highlight of the evening was the Seared Bronzino. Unlike many other Branzino dishes I've tried in Boston, which often fell flat in flavor, Porto’s rendition was masterfully-seasoned. Each bite struck a perfect balance between salinity and the sweet nuances of the squash purée.While Porto may not be the best Mediterranean spot in Back Bay, its seafood offerings, particularly the Seared Bronzino, make it worth a return visit. The pricing, given the quality and ambiance, also doesn’t feel too excessive. Recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for an upscale romantic venue with great food and atmosphere.Parking: Prudential public parking garage“
“The lobster rolls here are expensive, but given the quality and the portion size, they are worth it. There must have been a pound of lobster meat in my roll! The clam chowder is the best I've has in a while. The cole slaw was just the way I like it: creamy and crunchy. There is limited seating inside. You order and pay at the counter, then they bring the food to your table. This is not a fancy place, but the food is really good!“
“The food here is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the wait. Expect a wait time of 30 minutes to an hour due to its popularity, but it's well worth it. It's a pretty small place but can seat a lot. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Personally, I tried the Swing Pork Belly, Yo-In-Style Ramen Noodles, Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup, and Black Fish Fillet with Szechuan Pickles. The Swing Pork Belly with its incredible garlic sauce and the Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup with the perfect amount of spice and meat were standouts. If I could dine at Mountain House for every meal, I definitely would.“
“This was a really good restaurant. Very authentic Italian cuisine. Food was all amazing. Jeff, our waiter was the nicest most cordial man I've ever met has a very sociable personality. He gave us good recommendations on what to order and was very accommodating. You could close your eyes and point to any random dish on this menu and you will NEVER be disappointed. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.“
“Enjoyed being with my sister for lunch but wasn't too impressed with this place. A meatless taco salad. Also the server seemed annoyed when we asked for something. Food was mediocre at best. My first restaurant experience in Boston was disappointing.“
“Left another place to come here because the customer service was bad. What a 180. Citizen staff was friendly, great w/suggestions and helped secure me a seat at their busy bar. Had two great cocktails and a delicious pepper seared filet. Well done Citizen Pub!! I will be back!“
“I just proposed to my fiancée and we came here to celebrate. The servers were very attentive and picked up on the fact that we just got engaged without us needing to say anything! They gave us champagne and a desert on the house, and even the general manager came to say congrats. Out main server was Mario and he was just delightful, the most amazing server we’ve ever had at any restaurant. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere, 100/10 would recommend this place!“
“We got the salmon cups, which was very hearty and yummy! We also got the Botan Ebi Ikura and the Miso Butter Cod and another handroll which I forgot but all were so fresh and delicious in their own ways. We did have to wait 20 minutes to be seated since it is a small space, but it was totally worth it!“
“Lives up to the hype! Amazing food, nice atmosphere and a ridiculous wine list. Great place for a couples dinner or a night out with friends. The only negative I can think of was that service can be pretty slow on weekends and some of the wait staff can be pretty pushy, other than that its great.“
“Ate here again, 7 years later. What an Excellent dinner. Not cheap by any means, but service was top notch and the food/wine/cocktails were all delicious. I would not be surprised if this place is handed a Michelin star in the future. Go here for a special occasion - you will not be disappointed.“
“On a recent trip to Boston, we stopped by an iconic seafood and fresh lobster restaurant called James Hook + Co. You might know it ? because it’s won many awards for Best Lobster Roll, as well as Traveler’s Choice, among many other national awards.“Since 1925, James Hook & Co., founded by Grandfather James Hook and his sons, has been a pioneering force in the lobster industry."Restaurants that are THAT steeped in history always are on my radar, so lunch at James Hook + Co. was a must! Here are our top three suggestions on what you should order when you’re there:? Double Stuffed Scallop: I’ve lived in New England for almost 14 years and in that time, have become obsessed with any sort of stuffed shellfish. This seafood stuffed scallop is BEYOND - I can’t even begin to explain to you how delicious it was. A bright balance of acid from the lemon and the sweet scallop meat, paired with the delicious seasoned crumbs on top makes it an appetizer I want to have over and over again!? Shrimp & Corn Chowder: The ideal way to warm up on a New England spring day that promises to be warm but really just delivers cloudy weather and chilly temps mind day, ha! This chowder was packed with flavor! Lobster Roll: The star of the show, this lobster roll was top-notch! The sweet lobster meat was stuffed into a grilled bun, and the lobster salad itself was perfectly tossed in mayonnaise and secret signature seasonings, which elevated it to the next level. It was also served very cold, and that contrast with the bread was lovely!Five stars ⭐️ to James Hook + Co. for delivering not only outstanding food, but great service and ambiance! I can’t wait to take my family there this summer when they visit!“
“Eventide Fenway absolutely had the most amazing food I’ve ever tasted. Carefully crafted seafood cuisine, raw bar and great cocktails. I hear that there is a mothership location in Maine. I’ll try that too one day. PERFECTION! Great staff too“
“We had an outstanding experience. Food and service were amazing. For example I always thought shrimp cocktail was shrimp cocktail but somehow these shrimp were fresher and tastier. The oysters were ridiculously good and my lobster roll was perfect. This will be my go to place for seafood in back bay.“
“The seabass was amazing. The service was really great too, our waitress was attentive, helpful and gave good recommendations without pushing you to get them, they were rather genuine recommendations. The food had food labels for people with allergies!“
“The lamb burger was excellent. Went in for a quick bite and our waiter was kind enough to split our shared meal - the lamb burger and fries with truffle - on two plates and maintained the presentation and quality of the food. But the real winner of the night were the two homemade cookies we took home. My only complaint of the evening was the back corner of the restaurant we were seated in was a little too dark for my liking. Overall though, a solid place for dinner.“
“We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner here this evening. Our waiter, Robin, was amazing. Highlights for me were the Beef Tataki, the tahini cauliflower, the dandan noodles, and the fried chicken. Great fusion food, great vibe, great views.“
“The restaurant was really nice, we didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitstaffs were very nice and helpful when ordering from the menu. Every dish we ordered were really delicious. I personally love the Grilled Octopus, Calamari and red beet salad, the drinks were divine ?. I think is a neighborhood gem . Definitely will come back.“
“So nice black pasta!Since the room in the restaurant is compact, we, 4 adults and 5 kids worried about we couldn't get in there. But the staff kindly prepared a table so that we could really enjoy the outstanding pasta.Kid-friendliness: They have a chair for kids.“
“With attentive service and a warm atmosphere, it's the perfect spot for a romantic date night or gathering with friends. Don't miss the chance to indulge in the culinary delights of Bar Volpe – it's a true gem waiting to be discovered.“
“Visited this place on a sunday and was not disappointed! It runs like a well oiled machine. We got hot lobster rolls and the chowder. It was wonderful. The owner came out and made sure our sandwiches were on point, replacing one (fried fish) that was a little bit overcooked. He came back multiple times to make sure we all loved our food. This is a guy that really cares about his place. Definitely go here if you are visiting. Five stars definitely“
“My wife and I have enjoyed the Restaurant scene in Boston privately and professionally for over thirty years. Right now Aqua Pazza is my absolute favorite spot in the city! Aqua Pazza is kicking on my all three important points. Food, service and ambiance. Simply, I love the place!!!“
“Amazing Thanksgiving Day experience! From the Host to the Service Staff, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. The menu was amazing, and the lemon drop martinis were sublime! Thank you for a wonderful, memorable Thanksgiving/Friendsgiving! Looking forward to my next visit to Morton’s!“
“I have a gluten allergy and was so excited to learn they have gluten free buns. So happy they can accommodate allergies! I got the lobster roll flight and it was delicious! Will definitely be coming back.Dietary restrictions: Loved the gluten free rolls“
“Who else hasn’t eaten bean sprouts and egg fried rice? It’s like a state banquet. I’ll be really sad if someone doesn’t pack a portion to take away when someone comes. It’s so delicious. It’s worth walking ten minutes in the cold wind to buy egg fried rice. (Egg fried rice can be bought separately without having to eat hot pot. Those who are too lazy to turn on the fire are in luck)“
“If you don’t go here for lobster rolls, you’re seriously missing out. Buy a pound of fresh lobster and ask for some rolls and a side of butter..BAM. Too delicious. Also fried calamari, clam chowder, and their blueberry lemonade were all superb!“
“I have never posted a review before. My wife and I are visiting Boston during the winter and we ate dinner at Summer Shack last night. We ate at Atlanta Fish Co a few days ago and that was good too. We went to Pescador tonight and it was so very bad we paid the check, left the food and went back to the Summer Shack because it was so incredibly good. Recommend to all who love great shellfish and lobster. The best.“
“Very unassuming from the outside but very cool interior with a spacious dining room and large bar! We got there 2 minutes after they opened and I'm glad we did because by 1130 the place was packed! They gave us fair warning if we were going to have the spuflee pancakes then they are going to take a little time to cook and you should place orders for them as soon as you know. They weren't kidding as it was about 35 minutes from ordering until our dishes arrived but it was well worth the wait! Everything was absolutely delicious the fluffy pancakes soaked up all the strawberry creme freche making for a burst of flavor with every bite. Wonderful job team!“
“I went on a business trip last week and tried Tao Xiaoyan's Sichuan cuisine. It was really delicious. It's the ceiling of Sichuan cuisine. The pickled fish is sour and spicy, the dry pot sausage is crispy and goes well with rice. Endless aftertaste! I will come again next time I go on a business trip. I highly recommend it to everyone!“
“Was here with a friends for a bday dinner. It was absolutely delicious from drinks to mains and to dessert. We had their private room and it was so great to make all the noise in there. Totally recommend everything but our favorites was the croquettes, patatas bravas, shrimp in garlic and the salad. But totally do the omakase pre doze meal they have. Let them do all the thinking. Sit back and drink and stuff your face. Can't wait to go back. Service was phenomenal too!!“
“All I can say is Lobster Roll with Butter.. LORT... Impressive with the amount of lobster they give in that meal alone. Local IPA complements well with that roll.Striped Bass is absolutely amazing the way it melts on your tongue.Atmosphere: busy and comfy... mind you, it's a popular spot, so expect a full house and a wait (I believe we waited 40 minutes in a line outside that wrapped around the block)The experience and the food are worth while- the staff I can not say enough about their energy and service.HIGHLY recommended while in Boston“
“we visited BenCotto today for lunch with our 2 boys ( ages 5 and 7.) Our server Nick was friendly and polite. The drinks and food were delicious! We all split Chicken Parm, Chicken broccoli Alfredo and a cheese pizza. Everything was so good, my husband and I can't wait to go back without kids!!“
“Legal Seafoods is the ideal spot for a team lunch, offering a broad menu that caters to all preferences. They provide relatively fast service, making it a great option if you're on a tight schedule and need to return to work within an hour. Additionally, you can enjoy the stunning harbor view, enhancing the dining experience.“
“Highly recommendFood was amazingChicken dish was very tender and tasty with creamy mashed potatoes. The lobster ravioli were fantastic - the ravioli was in a brown sauce with mushrooms and paired great with red wineThe clam chowder had a nice subtle bacon flavor to it and truly top shelf for a chowder aficionadoThe wine list by the glass was decent but not amazing. Thats where I’d upgrade given the food is so goodThe ambiance was really good. Nice subtle background music. Great dim lighting but not too dark. Furnishings and wall decor was very tasteful and modern, the TVs were subtle but available where you can catch a game but not be diverted from conversationVery nice raw bar with a few oyster selections.Again would highly recommend - not super cheap nor pricey and worth the money.Dinner for 3 with 2 drinks each and a shared dessert was $200. For Boston a reasonable tab.“
“Absolutely wonderful! From the young lady helping us navigate the menu to pick out what we wanted,to the wonderful cook Carlos who got our order out quickly and cooked to perfection! These Texas girls(caterers to boot!) We're very impressed! Thank you for making our experience so wonderful!“
“We did a walk-in (without a reservation) and despite it being extremely busy the front of house staff could not have been more helpful. We were offered seats at the bar but with full meal options. The bar staff were also keen to assist and made you immediately at ease. We ordered the Fishermen’s Platter and the Salmon with a couple of glasses of wine. The platter in particular was an extremely large portion, which the bar staff later said many people share as the main course. In terms of quality both dishes were excellent, in particular the cod in the platter was so soft. What also makes this a great total dining experience is the atmosphere in the restaurant. The lively chatter forms a subtle background rather than an overwhelming din which becomes infectious into the eating experience. Yes the prices are higher than standard restaurants but for a special meal or where you want to impress or just share a great experience, then I highly recommend it for you.“
“It's really a great place!!I was visiting BOS for work right on Valentine's Day and saw great reviews about this place and wanted to try it, but it was fully booked. I came to see if it was any space at the bar, but it was booked as well, but RODIJA was kind enough to find me a spot in the corner of the bar. I really appreciate that.At the bar, LUIS Fernando was super friendly and professional as well. I had a Ceviche for an appetizer and a stake for the main course and were delicious.I also had a pizco sour that was really well made.I will definitely come back in future trips to try some more dishes and recommend them to my family and friends traveling to Boston.Thank PURO team. !!I came back the next day and had Aguachile and fish tacos and were delicious as well.“
“A very chill seafood place. Ordered Seafood Trio, which includes lobster roll, snow crab roll, and schrimp roll. Loved lobster and snow crab ones the most. Though they don’t look like a lot, but actually quite filling with all the butter and meaty seafood. The location is right across from the public library, around the corner from Lindt, very easy to reach.“
“If you have money to splurge (and you probably do if you're coming here), get the tomahawk. Can feed 2-3 people comfortably and it really is that good. Also try the steak tartare if going for dinner. It plus the bone marrow is a wonderful treat before your meal (hopefully a tomahawk).“
“Excellent lobster rolls and chowder! They’re located inside Quincy Market and without knowing that, it can be a little hard to find. The guys working behind the counter were less than professional but service was fast. There’s seating and tables to stand at in the center courtyard of the market. The food was worth stopping by for!“
“My daughter and I enjoyed our meal. Joann was an amazing waitress. We tried the pumpkin raviolis, we felt that was more like a desert than an appetizer, it was delicious! I had the cheese lasagna and meatball, my daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo and both were delicious.“
“Stopped by for a rainy weekend late lunch. We were seated right away. I ordered the bun bo hue and it was very good. Soup was savory, not too salty. I ordered the steamed mixed veggies on the side, probably wouldn't do it again for the 3.95 price point - very small portion and the veggies were barely steamed. Good experience overall, will come back just for the bun bo hue!“
“We got seated right away at our reservation time. Our server and the staff was excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive but not over the top, we didn't feel rushed. The food was very good, the menu has a great variety, almost too much as it is hard to decide. One of our favorite places in the North End.“
“Really nice atmosphere in a very nice hotel. Food was delicious! Unfortunately, don't expect the service to match. We sat for about 10 minutes before someone (not even our waiter) brought us water. We had to go ask for own menus and once our waiter came by for our order that was the last time we saw him. Had to flag down other employees for anything.“
“What a shame I didn't discover this place sooner. Very good atmosphere, charming service and great quality of food.We had dinner at the bar and I enjoyed the experience many times. The Oysters are very top. We also ordered tuna and sea bass tartare.I will repeat for sure“
