Had my first visit to Bootleg Special last night and it did not disappoint. Every aspect of the meal, from the creative drinks to the delicious appetizers to the fantastic main course was outstanding. Our server, Alex, was attentive and very pleasant. And last, but certainly not least, the beignets after dinner were spectacular. Looking forward to my next visit!
The atmosphere is like nothing I've ever experienced at a restaurant of this class. The decor is so cool & unique. Our waitress Chantelle was perfection. She rolled with my boyfriend's quips & even had some hilarious responses! The food was incredible! The scallops were the best I've ever had, and I'm from Boston & Quincy Ma where we have some amazing ones! The beef garlic pasta was unbelievable. The wings were amazing. They make amazing cocktails. I had a REAL margarita! Great...read full review

Bootleg Special Kitchen & Bar is a lively and eclectic restaurant known for its fun decor and friendly staff. The venue has a cozy atmosphere with unique decorations like disco bowls, Chinese ornaments, pin-up ads, and a fun leg stocking lamp, making it a great spot for parties or special occasions. The menu offers a variety of interesting choices, including small plates such as wings, garlic shrimp, mussels in Cajun sauce, and shrimp cocktail, all of which receive praise for their flavor and freshness. The crab pasta dish is also highly recommended, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing. The snow crab and shrimp boil is another highlight, praised for its tender crab and large, well-cooked pieces, with many noting the excellent quality of the seafood.
While the food generally impresses, some items like beignets and fried rice are considered less successful. The gumbo received mixed reviews, with some finding it decent but not exceptional. The restaurant is especially popular for its $1 raw oysters, which are fresh and a highlight of the visit. Service is consistently noted as excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. The venue also offers a great selection of drinks, and the convenience of tipping included in the tab adds to the overall positive experience. Overall, Bootleg Special Kitchen & Bar is recommended for its fun atmosphere, decent food, and great service, making it a good choice for celebrations or casual dining.
