“Perfect little sub shop in Backbay. We opted for the Italian Sub to go. The atmosphere was awesome with a lot of locals getting what seemed to be a regular daily lunch meal. The staff and customers seemed to know each other and a sense of community was ever so prevalent. The food itself was outstanding, even after a 5 hour train ride it traveled with us to ur next stop. Highly recommend this place. Truly a diamond in the rough.“

Tried Pokeworks at Quincy Market in Boston and honestly wish I found this place sooner! The market itself was super crowded and a bit overstimulating on a Saturday night, and the location was slightly hard to find because it was packed with people — but that’s definitely more about Quincy Market being busy than the restaurant itself.

I did a collect order and highly recommend doing that because my food was ready straight away with no waiting around. The portions were EXTREMELY generous and definitely good value for money. I got the poke salad bowl with tuna and prawns and added literally every topping possible (which was great because there were so many included at no extra cost). Everything tasted fresh and filling, and I was seriously impressed by how much food I got.

Left feeling very full and very satisfied. Would absolutely go back again!“

“Everything you could want for breakfast &/or lunch. The fresh salad bar - build your own - is awesome, hard to find these days. The lunch bowls were excellent, with perfect rice, sides of chapchae noodles and stir fry veggies. Delicious egg sandwiches, too. We found the bulgogi/beef teriyaki a bit sweet, but overall delicious and perfectly seasoned. The bowl/plate is also nicely seasoned w/sesame & green onion garnish plus the delicious sides. Other sandwich & panini options look great, too, but we always crave the rice bowls. Also the food is always freshly made. Beware during lunch rush hour. Mid-late afternoon is best. We often take away for dinner. Like all good sauces, the flavors improve! The place has table & counter space to dine in, is bright & cute, coffee is delicious and service is excellent. “The food at the Shy Bird in Fenway was absolutely delicious, especially the Chicken Dunks with the homemade sauce dips they were all so good we couldn't choose a favorite and the butternut soup was absolutely incredible, with its little kick of spice and sunflower seeds! Our server was top-notch,very attentive, friendly and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a special occasion. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation was beautiful, and the staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. “One of the best sub sandwiches you will ever have.
Service is fast. Food is great quality. You get a great value here. The subs are about 50% larger than most other places nearby and it is about a dollar cheaper. There is not much room to eat and the stools are very wobbly. That does not matter much since almost all the customers are grab and go.

“Started with their Eight Coconut stout - amazing! It was 11.5% abv but tasted so light. It did have coconut notes to it, was thick and syrupy. ($10 for 10oz pour)

For a pizza, I ordered their sweet dreams. ($17) I absolutely loved the ricotta on it. The crust was perfect; crisp, light and the hot honey seeped into the crust, making it somewhat juicy in a way.

However, I was disappointed by the amount of ricotta they put on it. The bites I had with it were my favorite and they could’ve been more generous. Instead, they absolutely doused it with the hot habanero honey. It was a pool on some pieces, a little too much, even though I like hot honey.

Cool atmosphere, mostly young adults in their 20s and 30s. Staff were okay, not overly friendly, just basic.
