“Perfect little sub shop in Backbay. We opted for the Italian Sub to go. The atmosphere was awesome with a lot of locals getting what seemed to be a regular daily lunch meal. The staff and customers seemed to know each other and a sense of community was ever so prevalent. The food itself was outstanding, even after a 5 hour train ride it traveled with us to ur next stop. Highly recommend this place. Truly a diamond in the rough.“

The lunch bowls were excellent, with perfect rice, sides of chapchae noodles and stir fry veggies. Delicious egg sandwiches, too. We found the bulgogi/beef teriyaki a bit sweet, but overall delicious and perfectly seasoned. The bowl/plate is also nicely seasoned w/sesame & green onion garnish plus the delicious sides. Other sandwich & panini options look great, too, but we always crave the rice bowls. Also the food is always freshly made. Beware during lunch rush hour. Mid-late afternoon is best. We often take away for dinner. Like all good sauces, the flavors improve! The place has table & counter space to dine in, is bright & cute, coffee is delicious and service is excellent. Tried Pokeworks at Quincy Market in Boston and honestly wish I found this place sooner! The market itself was super crowded and a bit overstimulating on a Saturday night, and the location was slightly hard to find because it was packed with people — but that’s definitely more about Quincy Market being busy than the restaurant itself.

I did a collect order and highly recommend doing that because my food was ready straight away with no waiting around. The portions were EXTREMELY generous and definitely good value for money. I got the poke salad bowl with tuna and prawns and added literally every topping possible (which was great because there were so many included at no extra cost). Everything tasted fresh and filling, and I was seriously impressed by how much food I got.

A full size salad, bright, light tastes with just the right amount of a delicate dressing. Not just the typical hunks of greens and ingredients thrown together with no soul and doused in some soybean oil based imitation.It was not the thick flour pita pocket that despite rips apart when you try to lightly stuff it with your salad or grape leaves or tabouli, despite being the thickness of baseball glove leather. This pita pocket was as thin as it could be, not the chewy baseball glove we usually get, yet completely resilient. It held everything I stuffed into it.“
