“This restaurant has an amazing vibe, great acoustically, great atmosphere, phenomenal staff. That being said the star is the food itself. The flavors are layered perfectly, not over seasoned and displayed artistically. Also, the prices were very reasonable for the value. Can’t wait to go back!!“
“Ate at the chefs counter last night with a buddy. The food was delicious and fun. Was delighted by each course. Very well executed. Wine pairings were wonderful. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy and comforting. If I lived in Boston, I would visit here often.“
“The oysters are amazing!! Came in with my dad, and had one of the best meals ever! We ordered A Tale of Two Oysters, and is the way to go. This way we both could try all 8 of the day’s oysters. Hailey was our server, and was absolutely amazing. She brought over paper menus to make it easier, as my father didn’t have his phone with him. She was attentive, engaging, and just a joy to be around. She treated each able as if they were her only table, and was great at explaining and offering suggestions. We will definitely be back!!“
“Absolutely excellent meal with an excellent team. Starting with the amazing bread and butter and a ln orange creamsicle (adult version of a childhood favorite). Then the broccoli salad with poached egg (poached expertly creating a creamy sauce). I had the fusilli broccoli- home made pasta dressed beautifully. My husband had the chick pea stew - whole chick peas made this his favorite. Finished with delicious double chocolate chip cookies. Can’t wait to go back!“
“Our server Jack was just wonderful. The owner also came over and helped us pick out wine and really nice. We felt very well taken care of and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was delicious, but quite pricey so I would save this for a special occasion. But it's a must!!“
“Nice rooftop views, good for a group dinner. Limited menu with pretty standard American food. Had the onion dip, jalapeño-bacon croquettes, & fish tacos. The tacos were meh but I'm rarely impressed by tacos. Liked the dip itself but didn't like how we given normal waffle fries with the dip rather than the potato waffles I had seen in pics. The croquettes were my favorite--very cheesy with a kick of spice. Friendly and fast service.“
“The food is excellent. The wait staff helpful and attentive. The space is warm if a bit cramped. Our only complaint is that the restaurant opened its doors to a long line of walk-ins whom they seated first ahead of people (like us) with reservations. We had a 5:30 reservation and arrived early. The hostess apologized while seating us that there weren't any menus left to give us when we were seated. Then, after our waitress enticed us to order one of the sfizi specials, she came back to tell us that they were already sold out because the walk-ins at the bar had grabbed them all up. Wouldn't it make sense to seat those with reservations first?“
“Retro diner with a fabulous vegan/gf menu. I got the club sandwich with home fries on the side on gf bread. My brother got the chicken and waffles. We were both so impressed at the presentation, ambience and amazing flavors of our meals. I will definitely be back!“
“We came here for Easter dinner with a group of 4. The seating area is warm and comfortable while still feeling a bit more upscale - a great location for a date night or special occasion. We enjoyed the dishes overall and appreciated that you could get a glimpse into the kitchen from the dining room. What we ordered: - Tuna crudo: Interesting flavors. The fish tasted fresh but could have used some more acidity. - Fried hen-of-the-woods mushrooms: Nice, crisp, and well seasoned. - Sautéed heirloom carrots: The carrots were nicely cooked but the glaze was a bit too sweet. - Seared scallops: The scallops were perfectly seared and paired well with the lentils and sauce. - Phyllo-wrapped cod: We were surprised how crispy this was even though it was sitting in the sauce. The lobster stew was full of flavor. One of our favorites of the night. - Seafood risotto: The risotto was well cooked but the dish could have included more seafood. - Lemon pepper half chicken: The juices of the chicken soaked into the beets to make a delicious bite.“
“There ! I've said it. Hope you're happy, Peter O'Malley. I've resisted yelping the Plough for years because I like being able to get a seat there for a pint or two or maybe more. It's so comfortable as it is - because it is just a pub. But wait, think a one lane bowling alley with tables down the side facing the bar with someone in overalls playing something 'grovin' at the end while you chill. The there's the Cuban you can't get enough of to go with the black and tan. Add the locals, more music, Mary, the brews, weird specials and it doesn't get better. Get over the bathroom, it looks like that because it is that. Yeah, sure I'll have another.“
“Food and atmosphere was so perfect for what we were craving! Last time we came was with a large group, so I think coming with only two people made it a much easier experience. We came during a very busy Friday night and were still able to quickly grab bar seats. Our bartender was very prompt and classy, and made delicious drinks! We started with the burrata on a cake-y bread topped with orange jam. This was probably my favorite dish of the night, perfect balance of sweet and salty. Then we had the carrots, which were crunchy and actually a pretty big portion for two people. Lastly, we tried the duck, which was delicious, but definitely wasn't the best cooked duck I've tried. I personally prefer well cooked meat and theirs was slightly undercooked. For dessert, we tried their plum cake. This felt like it could feed five people because of how dense it was, but it was super yummy. Overall, we had a great dinner here and I highly recommend the bar seating if you're going with one or two people!“
“Delicious, nutritious and wholesome protein bowls that leave you feeling super satisfied after a long day of hackathons at MIT! So many options of yummy sides to pick from too, including the kale salad, Mac and cheese, farro and brown rice base etc. This was the perfect spot for our large group that had a variety of dietary restrictions since there were options available for everyone. Highly recommend their ginger mint lemonade as well. Wish we had a place like this back in Seattle. Will be back here again!“
“Very nice little hotel for short stays.Big up to the gentleman at the reception who was always in a good mood each morning!Little rooms but all the needed amenities. I did not put 5 stars just because of the view from our bedroom which was on a wall :-(Great location ! 3min walk from the subway, 10min walk from MIT and 20min walk from Harvard !“
“This place is super chill--I used to come to the last iteration with drunk cooks that wanted strong drinks and darts, in that order. The new place offers the same, but is also cleaner(?!)Good music, super reasonably priced drinks. Excellent vibe. But the best thing of all is definitely the picklebacks. They have pickle juice on tap. No, really. On tap. They f@#k,. Super hard.“
“Definitely an upscale place where people dress up. I was definitely not dressed for the occasion and yet all staff members were still very kind and attentive. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday night but service was still quick and my food was phenomenal! I got the salmon and it was delicious. I also enjoyed my cocktail. I came here in March but could see that they had a beautiful outdoor space. I will definitely be coming back in the summer to sit outside and enjoy this place again.“
“Amazing atmosphere with iconic decor. An antiquated feel to it. I was here for a conference and there are quite a number of meeting rooms, but seating is rather limited. Also, parking is a gigantic problem, so use public transportation if possible because most conferences go all day long, so the zones limit you to either one hour or two hours with NO option to extend your time. You will have to keep moving your vehicle and driving around & around & around in hopes a spot will open up. Very friendly people here and it has a prestigious feel to it.“
“Came here with my girlfriend for a quick mid-week dinner and left feeling satisfied and impressed! The eatery is small, and has a dark-cottage like feel. We sat ourselves and were served promptly. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which was very juicy and jam-packed with minced pieces of fajita vegetables. It was delicious and cheesy. Every ingredient was very fresh and of good quality. It came with a side of cheesy refried beans, which were incredible! They were so good I'd honestly order them on their own. Wow! My girlfriend reported that her Bahn Mi sandwich was good, but a little on the hotter side. If you're a spice lover like me, though, that is a perk! Overall, we had a great dinner at Shay's and will definitely be back!“
“Great building and a wonderful quaint restaurant is inside. Cozy seating in several small rooms. The menu includes seafood and pastas and more. My date started with the zucchini fritters and then had the fish and chips. I had the kale salad with salmon. My only complaint with my food was the hot salmon wilted the kale. I was just expecting a crisp salad. Not to worry though. Wine was a generous pour. Our waiter, Jeffrey was fantastic. Very attentive. There was live music playing starting at 6 PM which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Probably best to make a reservation as it's a small space.“
“State Park is my fav local bar. It’s a great place to catch up with friends and meet people in the neighborhood. Staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. The ambiance is one of the best in Cambridge. This place is a classic and must stay for the community.“
“It was empty on a Sunday afternoon, so we were seated right away. Our server was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner (10-15 minutes). We ordered the tandoori chicken momo ($10.95 for 8 pieces), chicken korma ($14.95), lamb korma ($15.95), and chicken tikka masala ($15.95). The food was good overall, but the flavors were not bold enough. Even hot tasted more like mild, while mild was not spicy at all. The portions were also small for the price--the main dishes had enough sauce, but there were not that many chunks of meat. However, the chicken for my dish was tender. The tandoori momos also had a nice crispiness. I wasn't disappointed by my meal, but I would not go out of my way to come back.“
“Area Four is a fantastic spot! I recently tried their Mushroom and Fontina pizza with chicken, and it was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The staff were super friendly and attentive, which added to the overall great experience. My only suggestion would be to add more sauce options to make it even better. Overall, I highly recommend giving Area Four a try for a delicious meal and excellent service!“
“We were looking for good food in a place where we could talk, (listening and see each other) The Turing Tavern was the perfect finding..!Drinks were superb, food excellent, service nice and respectful. The music was lovely and at the perfect volume. The Turing Tavern offers different activities on different days of the week for people to choose.I will definitely recommend this place to friends and go back soon.“
“Had a burger plate with fries and rings; delicious for a good price! No frills - it's a hole in the wall place - but good food made fresh to order with great service. The style that reminds me of some of the great small town burger joints I've had over the years - not the gastropubs and brewery/restaurants that seem to be way more common in Metro Boston. Bravo!“
“wish i could give 10 stars. first time at this location and i ordered on the tablets (along with 6 OTHER people putting orders in) and only waited exactly 7 minutes for my food (two burgers two fries 2 shakes) And everyone picking up mobile orders and walk-in orders were handled in a EXTREMELY time-responsive manner. the person manning the pickup window/counter was checking everyones name on their order and receipt. making sure the right items were inside their bags. the kitchen staff had absolutely no orders to make and they chatted for roughly 30 seconds before cleaning their stations and prepping for future orders. (everyones gotta take a quick breather now and then lol) some customers werent even out the building yet before their table was getting wiped. music is loud enough to hear, quiet enought to eat.“
“We had a private event for a work function with ~75-100 people. While it was not set-up to accommodate my dietary needs when we arrived, Kristen was quick to jump in and help me get something to eat. The solution wasn’t just okay, it was AMAZING (probably the best GF pizza I’ve ever had!) She then made sure as desserts came out I was taken care of as well. A+ to Kristen and her impeccable customer service.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free“
“Definitely on the fence for 5 v. 4 stars. It a great space with lots of interesting decor, and the upper floor has a great vibe ...get up there if possible. Service was good; expected for a slow evening. Vibe is nice...not too much TV or music pervading, yet not lacking in some liveliness either...nice touch. Host was great and re-seated to better spot (chairs not stools) was easy. The standard menu (no specials that night) had scallops which were super! Cooked perfectly with the broc rabe also perfect on the side. The risotto, possibly from another school of risotto-thought, was not so. Just OK and seeming under cooked a bit and underwhelming... some umami or like influence would be good/needed. Duck dish was nice...but, they asked if medium rare is OK which it is! and should be. It was a precut set portion of tiny fillets which is great ( tho Im a fan of on the bone or "whole" fillet). What came up was nearly raw in the middle...yes, I definitely could have sent it back, but i"m lazy I guess and wanted to start eating together. Note to chef: a thin/medium size line of pink is good but a big old bunch is not. Note I eat rare /medium rare everything including lamb and port, but this was 'too much'...again my fault for not sending back, but.... Asparagus side was done very well...not under/over cooked. I'll be back!“
“A nostalgic deli experience in Inman Square. As the oldest restaurant in Cambridge, S&S has cemented its status as a beloved local spot that serves a wide range of classic deli fares. l came here for lunch a few times and always had a satisfying experience.Among the appetizers, the Chopped Liver was my favorite. Although it was unexpectedly paired with pineapple and melon slices - a combination that didn't entirely complement the inherent sweetness of the liver spread - it was still enjoyable when paired with crackers and red onions. Bathed in their signature sauce, the S&S Fried Shrimp was also good. The sauce leaned more towards sweet rather than spicy, but the jumbo shrimp was still nice and crispy. The Seared Tuna Salad was fairly basic, but with its generous portions, it was an ideal choice for a hearty meal. Corned Beef Reuben came with perfectly toasted marble rye bread, and the corned beef itself was solid. One of the biggest perk of S&S is their own free parking lot, but empty spaces might be hard to come by during peak lunch hours.Overall, a great spot that provides a slice of the city’s culinary history with the timeless appeal of a classic deli. If you’re looking for a comforting meal with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, I highly recommend giving them a try.Parking: Free street parking lot (enter via Hampshire st)Paid parking lot next to Olé (Springfield st)Paid street parking on Cambridge St & Hampshire st“
“Diverse, interesting menu with ambitious range. These folks are making the extra effort. We tried something new on the menu and server was very interested in our reaction, took feedback back to kitchen. Loved seeing people so dedicated to improving their product.“
“Ordered food through Uber eats last night & couldn’t of been happier. I was having a craving for hot pretzel sticks so that’s what I searched on Uber. I came across this place & omg it was sooo worth it. I also got a paper explaining who the owners are and more about the place. I can’t wait until I can come with my family when this all ends! So happy I found you guys. Thanks!!“
“This restaurant is a part of the group that brought you Russell House Tavern and Hourly Oyster. I think it may be the best of the three! We had the chicken wings, beet salad, and slow-roasted half chicken and it was mind blowing. The service was excellent and attentive even on a very busy Saturday night. The beet salad was a standout and the flavor of the slow-roasted chicken was insane. A strong recommend!“
“You need to have a state approved ID here (US driver's license, passport), oherwise, they won't serve you drinks. All food is great, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend the shishito peppers, the deviled eggs, pigs 'n blankets, brussel sprouts, and the alden burger.“
“Local place with decent food and plenty of ambiance. Street parking or walk....close to the Harvard museum so it was a nice stop. Char broiled burgers, so if don't care for the taste don't order. I think the burgers are delicious!! Drinks were plentiful!!“
“Definitely has vibes of being a former life as a neighborhood bar in Scranton in the '80s. Our visit was perfect however -food and a drink before an art class across the street. Hummus was excellent. Quirky and enjoyable part of our adventure.“
“Nice atmosphere for dancing but facilities could use improvement. Need heavy-duty and more coat racks. The ones we put our coats on collapsed and it was a nightmare finding our belongings. Also, the sink water pressure could use some help. See video above.Btw for the people looking at the food pictures, thinking this is still a restaurant, it’s not anymore and is an event space, just a heads up.“
“My friends and I had a great time today at Club Passim's music brunch. It was fun having bluegrass being performed in the background. And, it wasn't so loud or obtrusive that we couldn't chat/catch up with each other, as we were there for a mini-reunion of four friends. The waitstaff was friendly and patient, and we all loved our meals which were attractive-looking, fresh, and yummy, and healthy too! While this place is fairly well known in Cambridge, Harvard Square, Boston, etc. for its live music, many may not know what may be a well-kept secret that the Club has music brunches on Sundays. You should definitely check it out.“
“As a New Yorker, was hesitant to get pizza this far from home but was pleasantly surprised. Food was good, service was great. Even hit us with a couple of jokes. I'd go back if I were in town. Definitely one of the best food options in the area.“
“I can praise Henrietta”s table enough! The choices are amazing all healthy and sounds delicious and fresh! Having gluten and dairy allergies it’s hard to find a restaurant that is kind and respectful and understanding is hard but here they will make sure you have a fabulous safe meal. Been here a few times and last night we had Brit who was absolutely a doll helped me get out of my scrod box and try the salmon. I HIGHLY suggest for all. Thank you Brit much appreciate it“
“Tonight we had the most amazing meal at Bambara. We were warmly greeted by our waiter Andres. He was a perfect example of what an excellent waiter should be, friendly and attentive. Next our food, it was delicious. My husband ordered the clam chowder soup which he thought was excellent, but his main dish was the scallops on top of farro risotto with butter squash was a 5 star dish! My order the salmon with crispy Brussels sprouts on a tahini sauce was wonderful too. We both highly recommend this restaurant. Not to be missed if you are in the Cambridge area.“
“The Catalyst Restaurant's reviews here are as I experienced. I had the pleasure to work a business event there, & our assigned staff Cassandra & Carlos were absolutely accommodating & friendly the entire time, on point & always proactive in assisting us to have a great event. For lunch, I ordered the Catalyst burger medium rare with extra fries - the burger was made to order, nicely seared & fries were simply deelish. I look forward to returning here on a personal level with Family & friends, or even for work again. Warm positive vibes all around & just excellent service - what a gem!“
“Great place for something low key and casual. I came here to meet a friend for drinks. The restaurant is split between 2 levels and we met up downstairs. The bartender was very friendly and was able to get our orders in right away. Note that this is a CASH BAR ONLY!“
“saw Darlingside 's late show which wasn't a seated event. But the kind Lara, attending the merch table got a seat for my very pregnant niece. The venue is like a renovated subway station concrete cold but with a full house it warms up balconies on either side of stage and center give good views of stages.Restrooms clean as are bars efficient and stocked.Management had a good control of evacuating crowd .Band was very pleased too which made for a great show..will return to a seated show“
“Sweet, intimate neighborhood spot with good vibes and great business (but not too crazy busy)! The people who ran the restaurant were so kind and seemed truly passionate about what they do. Awesome cooks too. My partner and I ordered the Greek salad with chicken, which was amazing. The feta was so soft and yummy, and the chicken was freshly grilled! They have killer dolmades too. Flavorful and the perfect texture. We will definitely be back next time we're in Boston!“
“The Abbey is one of those places you can order anything on the menu and be blown away. The Chef clearly has a skill for building a menu; they have the classics done extraordinary to rope you in and build that trust, and then you can go for the more adventurous stuff knowing that if its on this menu, its fricking good.“
“no-frills, straight-to-the-point pub fare. small menu densely packed with good options. plus some good beers on tap. my favorites: *steak sandy *buffalo chicken tenders wouldn't go out of my way to get this, but since it's close by, it had officially entered my rotation. boathouse is SOLID and fun.“
“They offer a great options if you're looking to eat less meat. I highly recommend the chickpea fritter sandwich and, if they ever bring it back, the nashville "chicken" sandwich (I will be thinking about this one for a while). The store usually has seating available but it's also next to an indoor public space with tables. Sometimes they offer free samples of their soups or juices.“
“Great Tavern near Harvard. Great bar area. The food was good. I had the short ribs with mash potatoes and Brussel sprouts. My family had burgers which they said were great. We also had the steak Frites which were good as well. Hands down the best butternut squash soap I ever had.“
“This s a Boston chain serving healthy food, my wife and I had the chickpea fritter sandwich and shared a corn chowder. Very good food at good prices. You order your food at the counter and pick it up when it is ready. Recommend, especially for lunch.“
“Nice pub with a great atmosphere and a good menu. They are also great with gluten free and take allergies seriously. I ordered their 730 burger, cooked medium, with truffle fries and it was spot on and cooked perfectly. My daughter ordered a salad with Ahi tuna that was also cooked perfectly and she really enjoyed it. All in all a great meal.Dietary restrictions: Nice choice of gluten free options.“
“We went to dine in looking at the name Tanjore restaurant . Assumed that southern Indian food will be served as Tanjore is in TamilNadu. But So disappointed and then had to eat regular northern Indian Dishes. But food was good and place was Alright to dine in.“
“My wife and I found ourselves stuck in Cambridge as a result of certain family entanglements. We were feeling glum with no bright options for spending the evening. THEN.... we stumbled into Pammys and things went technicolor. We were seated at the southeast end of bar and were almost immediately sipping a 29 degree Martini and an Oaxaca Old Fashioned. In addition to being a really great bar full of fashionable, chatty and probably interesting local people, Pammy's also has a full menu of really great food including asparagus served with a cured egg yolk and a circle of something very tasty that resembles a large egg white cut into a slice. We also tried crispy mushrooms, some fish, pasta, bread pudding and some really delicious bread (which is offered free of charge, at least at the bar.) The staff of the restaurant, including a woman who I believe was the Eponymous Pammy of Pammys, were all very friendly and made us feel welcome being in Cambridge. We met a very nice person from Maine which was another exciting wrinkle to the experience. We will definitely go back the next time life throws us a curveball and we are stuck in the Boston metro area. A big thanks to Pammys for salvaging our night!“
