edit 11/10: management had responded to my review apologizing for not getting good service while seated at the bar and i didn’t mention where i sat in my interview. i had mentioned that i had the same experience as other poc who had dined at this cocktail bar. i was never sat at the bar i was seated at the table and still my experience at this establishment was below subpar and management continues to dismiss that people of different color are served differently here.

had a similar experience to george when i visited this restaurant. had to flag down the bartender at least two times to ask for the check as well as give him the check because no one was really paying attention to us. i very much understand being a busy environment and being short staffed and such but it was basically as if me and the other individual i was with didn’t exist. subpar drinks. it was also ridiculously loud in there noise control is an issue and i don’t mean the patrons in the restaurant i mean the music. music didn’t vibe at all with the aesthetic of the speakeasy it was if someone was just playing a playlist off their phone the tune kept on going in and out. i wouldn’t be inclined to visit here again, i believe there are better speakeasy out here in boston

edit: as i continue to look through the reviews of this speakeasy it is clear that there is a common denominator to those who didn’t have a great experience at offsuit. as a black person myself its frustrating seeing management dismiss concerns that patrons are displaying about the service they received as a POC. i hope that in the future management takes time to listen to patrons concerns and not dismiss the experience they had at this establishment

Our server was excellent. He spent time explaining the drinks and the process behind making them, and giving his personal recommendations along with popular choices. We felt guided throughout the menu and taken care of. The drinks and food tasted incredible. If you like speakeasies or cool cozy spots, highly recommend.

This was the perfect spot for a pre dinner drinks and light snack. The oysters were delicious and the drinks creative and delicious.

This place is very hidden; once you find it you need to call for entry. Atmosphere is small dark and cozy with a faux fireplace; it has the speakeasy vibe! They make a good expresso martini but not the best I have ever tasted. Biggest issue is service; not enough staff and they aren't all that friendly although that might be partly on purpose.. A one time visit for sure!!

Nothing like being a minority sitting at the bar…that had two seats and being ignored most of the night. Having the flag down the bartender, order a drink, he doesn’t make it, then tell a random waitress that you’ve been trying to get a $45 dollar drink please. What’s INTERESTING is that a ton of Caucasian dudes walk up to the bar, order, and get their drink ASAP…

Slipped in here just before last call for a drink on my way home. One of the best places I’ve been to in Boston!

Fun intimate bar with a good selection of drinks and food. A nice intimate setting outside of Chinatown. Highly suggest for a first stop in a night out.

A wonderful date night with my husband. We traveled in from Kentucky for business and so glad we made this one of our stops.

It was quite an adventure finding Offsuit—we even had to check Google Maps to figure out the entrance, and once we found it, we called to get in, which just added to the fun. Inside, the space is stunning: the lighting, the ambience, and the little candles on each table really set the mood. The menu itself was playful and creative, designed like a deck of cards you flip through. For cocktails, I tried the myth of fingerprints (gin, grapefruit lillet, sweet pepper cordial) while my partner had impossible odds (mezcal, celery, peach, earl gray, tarragon oil) and both were absolutely amazing—honestly some of the finest cocktails I’ve ever had, so innovative and balanced. We also had the Pao pao shrimp (w/ spicy aioli, scallion, sesame), which paired perfectly with the drinks. I even told the bartender how impressed I was, because the flavors were that good. Lily greeted us warmly and made us feel so welcome throughout the evening. This place is such a gem—we’ll definitely be back for sure!

The service was not good from one of our waitresses. She was rude and dismissive and unhelpful. Two people in our party ordered the steak frites cooked medium and both plates came out blue/bleeding. We asked them to cook them more and they basically just nuked the French fries on the plate and didn't recook the steak. The ambiance and vibe of the place is alright but the food stinks and the service leave a lot to be desired. Would not return or recommend to friends.
