My friend and I sat in front of a window looking out on the street which was lovely. A violinist played for us at one point. His veal was better than my linguine with Bologna sauce. It is a little pricey but if you like Southern cuisine and want great service and a good meal, it's worth it.
We had a reservation on a Saturday evening. There was a line out the door when we arrived, and they took us right away. They sat us in the basement which was smaller, fewer people, and much quieter. However, by about 7:15 pm on a Saturday, it got so loud we had trouble hearing each other. It was a very casual atmosphere, lots of families with kids, and not pretentious at all - just what we wanted. They served bread with olive oil for the table. The bread was fine, but nothing...
2nd time stopping into this family owned restaurant and will continue to do so! Everyone was so friendly, service was quick, and the food was delicious! A nice touch was being able to see a bit into the kitchen… enough to see that each meal was handmade.
