This place was really fun. Cozy vibe and hearty food. The carbonara in particular was amazing. I liked the theme a lot as well, and rolling a 20 sided die to pick a random cocktail was a really fun touch. I got 2 random drinks and one was quite good, the other was fine but still worth the experience to get it. I would highly recommend Parla.

Fun place. Good music and friendly staff. We were looking for something different than the traditional Italian restaurant and we found it.

This is a nice intimate place for a date. We ordered the burrata for appetizer, and shared the chicken parm and carbonara. The burrata was nothing out of the ordinary but tasted fresh. My personal favorite was the chicken parm as the pappardelle was cooked to a perfect doneness. It had a nice bite to it. The flavor of the carbonara was great as well but we thought it was too saucy and the spaghetti was a bit too well done. We ordered the Sippin on Sizzurp and rolled the die for our second drink and ended up with a Cloud Nine. Both drinks were fantastic. Would come back again for both the food and drinks.

Was underwhelming. Admitted I had no reservation for this small restaurant but the hostess said she could give me a table if I could be done within an hour (I was solo and just flew into town for business). The waiter stopped by twice over a 20 minute period and when I wanted to order a main course he literally said, "I don't think you'll have enough time to eat that before we need the table." I paid for my old fashioned and caprese salad and left.
Not interested in visiting here again.

i had such high hopes for this place but the food truly let us down. while the ambiance + drinks + service were above and beyond unique/ incredible, the food left so much to be desired. the carbonara was so bad. as an italian and a cook, it was obvious they also used cream, yet didn’t disclose that on the menu. additionally the pancetta wasn’t pan fried/ rendered first, making most of the pieces inedible. the burrata/ tomato app was so cookie cutter, just thrown on the plate with no salt or pepper or olive oil??? the brussel sprouts were unseasoned and undercooked grease sponges. overall disappointed by the food but did have a couple of redeemable dishes: the homemade pappardelle with lamb ragù and the crispy calamari were very yummy

Parla is bar and restaurant. A full display of liquors and several wines and a few beers. The highlight here is definitely the bar. But if you're also looking for food, Parla has a limited menu of Italian offerings. This is, after all, the North End.
On a warm afternoon, well before the dinner rush, I stopped here with suitcase and backpack. A few folks were sitting at the tables by the open windows and I was seated at a table along the wall. Menu perused and I placed my order.
A moment later, my beer was delivered with a frosty mug. And ten minutes after ordering, my chicken parm arrived. A nice portion in a tasty sauce on top of pappardelle noodles. Lots of cheese melted over the top.
Parla is not too fancy and it's not too laid back. It's a nice but very small place where perhaps you will stop for a drink while waiting for your reservation elsewhere. Or like me, you'll have dinner here too and enjoy it.
Vegetarian options: Pasta with sauce is good.
Dietary restrictions: Ask about allergens.
Parking: It's the North End. There are lots around and if you're lucky and it's quiet, you'll find a spot on the street. Look out for hydrants.
Kid-friendliness: I suppose so.
Wheelchair accessibility: Step free access

The atmosphere, staff, and drinks were amazing even on a very busy night. The food was very good but nothing amazing given the surrounding competition.
