You can roll a D20 to get a mystery drink, and the concotuons we got were very good but wild. One was the spiciest drink ive ever had. The food here is fantastic, but the plates are small. The restaurant itself is even smaller, so you'll need a reservation to eat.100% would go again.

Lucky enough to get a last minute reservation on a Friday night. Drinks are super fun, you can roll a 20-faced die to get a secret cocktail. Def make a reservation as people were turned away constantly.

Finally got to stop by and can confirm this spot is worth waiting for! Intimate interiors and clever cocktail offerings all lend themselves to Parla’s unique style; this contemporary speakeasy is entirely its own creature.Parla’s menus arrive sandwiched between blank notebooks bearing the doodles and adages of bargoers (reading them is just as fun as adding to them!), their Dungeonmaster program of 20 randomized drink offerings is crazy clever, and Shaylee may just be the world’s best bartender. She was incredibly hospitable and accommodating from the start, even over the phone on a busy night, and continuously ensured we felt welcomed and taken care of despite juggling a 22nd birthday behind us (which the staff kindly interrupted their killer playlist for by queuing up Taylor’s “22” for, all of their own accord)12/10, will be back and can’t wait for the next round! (buuuuut if you literally can’t wait for a table, give Farmacia down the street a try and try Parla next time ?)Dietary restrictions: Super attentive to dietary restrictions, even willing to edit their otherwise-sacred Dungeonmaster offerings!

Enjoyed the service and ambience but the food was very average esp for the price. Drinks were good.

One of my favorite cocktail spots in Boston.

Such a fun place for cocktails and apps. I brought some friends who were visiting from out of town and for that area, which is mostly sports bar and pubs, this is a hidden gem! My friend rolled the dice and the drink did not disappoint. We will definitely be back for a girls night!

Had a reservation for 2. Went inside and checked in. Our table was just being cleaned (there was another table close to the windy entrance that was about to finish too, with longer wait time), and we were asked to wait outside at a not-so-cold but rainy and wintery night.. 2 other guys came by and asked us where the entrance was, as they've never been.. once inside, "our" table was ready and the waitress immediately seated them at the table (while we were waiting). When I pointed to her that we were waiting for that table, she told us that they are regulars and friends with the owner, hence she couldn't seat us . The rest didn't matter because the feeling was crappy, and I didn't even bother taking pictures. In case anyone cares: the food wasn't good (polenta with weird mayo-based sauce; pappardelle lamb ragu, which was hard and chunky; strange and 2 tiny arancini that tasted like meatballs in ready tomato sauce) , the Moscow mule was too sweet, and the per-request drink was absolutely excellent.

Fantastic spot. All the food is delicious. I had the octopus and arancini to start and both were *chefs kiss* and finished off with the Lobster ravioli (YUM). All staff were so nice and helpful. Cozy little spot. Will definitely be making this a frequent stop!

I don't know if we just got unlucky...I'm not picky but I thought both mine and my friends dungeon master drink were horrible. I guess that's the game though...our waitress did bring us a shot of liquor at the end when she saw we didn't drink our drinks. The food was alright, the lamb in my pappardelle was tough and chewy, not good. Chicken parm was okay but nothing special. Enjoyed the burrata. Service was just okay other than the liquor at the end. I also was in the seat right next to the door, on a 20 degree night the door opening every couple minutes was really not enjoyable. Maybe perhaps putting up something thicker than the curtain would be more pleasant. Would I return? Probably not. I feel like this is an experience you go to once, but not really worth returning.

The reviews of Parla were good so was excited to try. The atmosphere is very dark and it is very small inside. The waiter was attentive and the food and drinks came out quickly. I was pretty disappointed with the food and drinks though. The meatballs were dry and the meats were tough. The drinks seemed more "fun" than good. Overall, it is a fine place to grab drinks, but not the best restaurant.

Parla is my favourite bar in Boston. It’s somewhere I’d easily recommend to anyone visiting the city’s North End if they’re looking for a memorable night. Whenever we’ve gone the vibes have always been chill and it’s been such a fun experience. Its warm speakeasy aesthetic catches the eye; though it’s a small space both times we were seated after only a short wait. The servers are always attentive and engaging. You can get all the classic drinks but you can also try their unusual shrub cocktails. I remember loving “Respect Yr Elders” and the “Parla Mule.” What stands out the most is their Dungeon Master’s game. Roll the dice to try mystery drinks and over time fill out your card. Its a great way to try new things and a great reason to return.I also wanted to mention that I love the notebooks the staff hand you. They’re filled with art, games and words written by other customers. You get to add to them and it was a cute coincidence that a year apart we ended up having the same one and got to look back and see what was added. I included one of the loviest sketches in a photo below.

This vibes at this place are always impeccable. I stop in as frequently as I can. Amazing food, great environment, & awesome drinks. The Dungeon Master is so run; let the d20 determine your drink. I also recommend the seafood risotto.

Okay whaaaat a cute and fun spot! We loved it here for drinks late night! Fun combos and great staff! We snacked on fries and they were served hot and fresh. The espresso martini was 10/10 too! Would totally recommend and return here when we're back in the area!
