the hospitality is on another level! i came with my school org and the owners loved us!! so much so they gave us free ube cookies for all our support. the food itself is phenomenal! as cliche as it is to hear it genuinely tastes like home—and i’m not even filipino!

PinoyKabayan Food is a cozy spot for authentic Filipino cuisine, serving up classic dishes like adobo, and lechon kawali with rich, traditional flavors. The halo-halo dessert is a must-try, refreshing and packed with classic toppings. Generous portions and friendly service make it perfect for sharing with family and friends. A great place to satisfy your Filipino food cravings at a fair price!
I'm not sure about the takeout experience but delivery is MISERABLE. The portion sizes are legit shocking. Paid $16 not including delivery fees for a chicken adobo that did not come with rice and it was TINY. The plastic bowl it came in was about the width of a toilet paper roll and 2 inches deep. Think of the size of store bought hummus. What a joke.
Taste was alright but price is seriously bad for that portion. No rice, just chicken and some spices. I would estimate it was 1/3 pounds of chicken, and a restaurant can get chicken breast in bulk at $3 or less a pound. So they essentially serve you $1 of chicken, plus let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say it has $1 of spices and $1 of labor, which is an egregious overestimate, and it comes to a $3 dish. THAT THEY SELL FOR $16!!!!! Seriously can't make this up.
I get that they have to charge a markup and I'm totally fine with that, but this is a $10 dish at MOST. If there were any other Filipino places in Boston that provided competition, I'm certain they would not get away with this. Don't let this place take advantage of your wallet.

I love this place. It has single-handedly made me fall in love with Filipino food. I haven’t explored much of the menu but the beef tapa and chicken adobo on garlic fried rice is so dang good that I feel compelled to get it every time I visit. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend stopping by.

Love getting lunch from here!! I’ve had it twice and both times it’s been delicious! It’s a sort of cafeteria style counter— they assemble your plate right in front of you, so you get your food super quick. It’s definitely worth the walk from my office :)

Filipino cuisine is a rarity in Boston, so you're in for a treat at PinoyKabayan downtown. Pop in for breakfast or lunch for a hearty home-cooked meal with plenty of pan-fried classics like Tocino, Spam, and Longganisa. Other dishes include Lumpiang, Pancit, Adobo, and Mechado.
I opted for the Tocino plate paired with an Ube Shake, which hit the spot.
