(pre-Covid-19 RW experience) It was their Winter 2020 DINE OUT BOSTON menu that brought me out to Post 390 for a 3 course lunch for $25, where they gave us a table upstairs. I started with a salad - Artisan Lettuces gf candied pecans, dried cranberries, shaved manchego, white balsamic - which was crisp and sweet savory, cool and refreshing. The Bourbon-Marinated Steak Tips, creamy potato risotto, baby arugula was good as well, and quite filling, though the arugula was more garnish than side dish on this plate. I sampled the Atlantic salmon and found it moist tender. Best of the courses however was their signature Banana Cream Pie which came with brûléed bananas, foster sauce, housemade banana liqueur (available $8 a la carte). I was happy. [I checked the business profile after posting my delayed review only to see that Yelpers have reported this place as being closed. Bummer. I wonder if it is permanent or a covid hibernation...]

I was on a work trip and dined here with my colleagues. We enjoyed the food (I had salmon and brussel sprouts), the wine and cocktails were great, and the service was decent. The atmosphere is very lively and bustling. Overall, a decent experience.

Came to Post 390 during restaurant week with cousins. I really like environment upstairs and especially the view. The quality of the food was really really good. I had a very good experience there.

Had a solo dinner by the fire with a book, very cozy. The desserts were a little small. Wasn't worth getting it to go. Recommend either eating it there or ditching it.

I visited the restaurant twice in February on our last visit to Boston, once with my family, once with friends. On both occasions the service was excellent, being helpful and friendly, and taking care to not be pushy. Some evenings it is loud, so we asked for quieter seating and were promptly taken to the appropriate area of the restaurant. The food, wine and desserts were all outstanding.

Crab Cakes: three dime-sized crab cakes $18 - overpriced. Scallops: four small scallops $34 - overpriced. I didn’t like the scallops and asked for the free-range chicken. Free-Range Chicken $30: Small piece but Tasty. Carrots were not tender. I should have asked for them to be cooked some more. Banana Cream Pie $8: Large slice, Banana cream filling delicious. Crust? - My mother could have made a better pie crust. Was my wife’s birthday dinner. Disappointed in the skimpy portions. Service very good. Bottom line: I wouldn’t go back here.

We've always enjoyed dining at Post 390, but our dinner Saturday night was truly outstanding. More dishes have been added to the menu, and everything we had was delicious. All four of us enjoyed the brussel sprout Caesar salad, and then we each had a different entree--salad, pork spare ribs, halibut, and mushroom ravioli. Each one was wonderful. And Oscar, our waiter, was exceptional. And it's right across the street from the Lyric Stage, where we went after dinner, so Post 390's location added to the enjoyment of the evening.

I don't have a bad word to say about this place. We got seated at a great table by the window overlooking the street & Haley our waitress was on point all night. The beef tartare & the seared scallops were exceptional. Special thanks to the sommelier for the crab cake/champagne combo. After all that you know we had to get a few dessert and they didn't disappoint. Pumpkin cheesecake! Do yourself a favor and check Post 390.

We enjoyed an exceptional dinner celebrating our friend's birthday. Our server, Hailey, provided warm & highly attentive service as did the other members of the service team. We thoroughly enjoyed the oysters and the delicious crab cake appetizers Each of our entrees were delicious - Halibut, Prime Rib and Scallops. If you like Banana Cream Pie, go for it! Theirs rocks! Great birthday celebration.

Service was very mediocre and food quality fell well short of the price.

We had dinner upstairs. I travel 40 weeks a year and can honestly say their Filet Mignon was the absolute best I've ever had! Tremendous service, phenomenal wine list and the banana cream pie is a must have. We'll be back tomorrow!

Stopped in on Valentine's Day for a reservation close to the end of the night. What a mistake this place was. The prefixe menu with wine pairings for two ended up being $230 which is fine if the food is up to par. However my order of the ny steak and croquettes was nowhere near worth this price tag. The steak was suppose to be medium rare but the steak came out practically mooing. The outer edges of the steak were cooked ok but the middle was very rare. The steak came with (3) fried croquettes that came as a side. I but into one and instantly was surprised that it was still frozen. I cut into the second and felt it, that was also frozen. Why would you send out frozen food? Is no one quality checking the food as it comes out? I asked our waitress to speak to a manager but no one ever showed up as I found it crazy that I'm spending $75 for a prefixe menu where I'm being served frozen food that I can warm up better in my home microwave. When it came to dessert, one of the choices was the creme brule. It obvious they are cutting corners here to save time on a busy Valentine's Day. The brule came out and the supposedly torched sugar top did not come out warm or even crunchy. It was a soggy top as if the brule were all pre torched en masse to speed up dessert service. Hey, you know what that's ok though. You live and you learn and I'll be voting with my wallet to make sure I never step foot in this establishment again and make sure others I know are made aware to take their hard earned money elsewhere.

Our group of four visited Post 390 this past Saturday night and were fortunate enough to have Chris as our waiter. The atmosphere was upscale but not stuffy, and Chris made great recommendations, chatted with our table, and gave us time and space to have a leisurely, fun dinner. The experience was five stars, but the food was 4 - I went with scallops over the (recommended) Salmon, and they were a tiny bit overdone. Will definitely go back, though.

Great dinner for 8 last night at Post 390. I made the reservation on the Open Table App with a couple requests for a special celebration and received notes back and a phone call to confirm from the sommelier who was helpful in making a decision within my price range. Arrived on time and was shown to a private room with everything prepared. Food and drinks were creative and delicious! Left for theater and came back later for dessert (we had brought a cake but run out of time to enjoy it) but even though they were closing up for the night and undoubtedly wanting to end their night the staff was gracious and accommodating and made us feel special! Many thanks for a great night!

Celebrated a friend's birthday here with drinks and dessert after an ear-splitting dinner at nearby Red Lantern (see review). Post was a welcome respite - relaxing, cozy and friendly environment with top-notch service. Wide variety of desserts - from the usual creme brulee to rich cakes and fun sundaes. Great portion sizes and excellent cocktail and liquor offerings. Perfect ending to a wonderful evening.
