These pastries are so flavorful and buttery. The price is great and it's such a small location you could easily miss it but I'm so glad we didn't. Such a hidden gem in boston!
A delightful little bakery tucked away next to the Marseille building. I tried the butter croissant, the Nutella babka, the pain aux raisins, the danish (both apricot & blueberry), and lemon madeleines. Everything was very fresh and delicious. My only suggestion is to add a tad more of the pastry cream to the pain aux raisins - while the croissant dough layers were buttery and flavorful, I am confident that an extra dollop of the pastry cream will make the inside of the bun...
This little gem is tucked away in the lobby next to the Marseille restaurant outdoor patio. Make no mistake though, it's worth a visit. Raised in France, it's been hard to find good viennoiseries in Boston in general and in the South End in particular. While I enjoy all matters of baked goods, the yard stick remain the Croissant and the Baguette, both staples of french bread and viennoiseries...and guess what, they're delicious there.
