Ate here for dinner yesterday.
Server looked bothered we existed.
Food was sub par.
And to top it all off, I have food poisoning now from what I assume was from the oysters.

This was such a great place! Friendly staff, quick service, wonderful atmosphere and yummy food! We ordered pulled pork sandwich and the daily special, hotdog with special toppings!

We had lunch at Salty Dog Seafood in Faneuil Hall Marketplace and grabbed seats at the outdoor bar on a hot day. It’s a great place for people-watching and soaking in the Boston vibe, but the heat made us grateful for the umbrellas and cold drinks.

Speaking of drinks — they were good but not great. Both of ours felt a little watered down, and while they were refreshing, they lacked that extra punch you expect from a solid cocktail.

I ordered the lobster roll, which came cold with a side of hot butter. The lobster meat was fresh and generous, but the roll itself was very plain — no seasoning or dressing, just lobster on a toasted bun. It was okay, but I really wish they offered a warm version with butter mixed in.

My girlfriend had the lobster casserole-style dish, which turned out to be the star of the meal. It was a rich, creamy mix of lobster meat, scallops, shrimp, and white fish, baked in a lemon-herb cream sauce and topped with buttery breadcrumbs over rice. Flavorful, comforting, and definitely something we’d order again.

Service was fast, and the bill came in under $100 for two lobster dishes and drinks — pretty reasonable for a seafood lunch in the heart of Boston.

Overall: If you're in the area and want a quick seafood stop, Salty Dog delivers a decent experience. The lobster roll might not wow you, but the lobster casserole is worth a try. Just don’t expect the cocktails to knock your socks off.

It was a wonderful, delicious place that should be frequented by more people. Right across from the sugar factory. The food was great, atmosphere was very pleasant w the music of cory allen staats in the background. Would highly recommend

The lady didn’t bring our silverware, had to walk up to the bar to get my water refilled, food portions are piss poor

Fish and chips were very good. Light crunch and good seasoning.

Restaurant is right in the heart of the marketplace with outdoor seating. I ordered a sangria which tasted like orange juice. The oysters were good. The lobster roll was not served on a split hot dog bun and was placed beside the slaw which caused it to be soggy. Many waitresses were standing around talking, including ours, so they were not too busy for us to run out of things and have to wave them down for service. It was 90+ degrees outside and had to ask for water refills. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for things.

👇Fish/chips, several small pieces of fish which were over cooked. Surly bartender. Obviously feeds on tourists. Eat anywhere else

I was not impressed. I got the fisherman’s platter for $38. It had shrimp, scallops, clams strips and scrod. Everything was way overcooked and inedible. The shrimp and scallops, the few there were, were all way over battered and overall not very good. I am not a food diva by any means, but this was not good. I swear there was more flour batter than seafood. I counted 5 scallops, 4 shrimp, 2 small pieces of scrod, and the clam strips were all batter.

Not recommended at all. The only thing good about this place is the spot. Food just so so with high price, service is so bad, especially the table guy upfront, he has the attitude like he just lost a million dollar bet last night and show up to work in the next day. Again, not recommended at all, the service so bad.

went with a friend to get a few cocktails— asked if we could sit at a table (since restaurant was mostly empty) and were told we had to sit at the bar. Got watered down aperol spritzes that were not mixed, so whatever. Anyway, gets time to pay, we tip around 10% since we didn’t get food and drinks were meh (we were there for 30 min max) and got yelled at from down the block :/ always a great way to attract customers

Sunday lunch with the family. Calamari was great. Fried clams, grilled salmon and lobster roll were all enjoyed. Server was polite and attentive. Outdoor dining was also great, lots of people watching.

The place is pleasant and ideal to relax after a walk. The Main loabster roll (38USD) is good, I consider the portion to be abundant and they serve it with potatoes and salad. I consider that the prices are somewhat high but in general it is the average price of loabster rolls in Boston, the service is good, in my case they took a while to serve me and tables arrived later and they served them :( additionally in the end they put a lot of pressure on you to leave and you feel pressured to eat.
