One of the best seafood restaurants in Boston. Great variety of oysters and both the swordfish and lobster salad were excellent. Sitting at the bar was very comfortable. We will definitely be back.
The server Nick was the consummate pro even though the 20% tip is automatically added so there is no reason to be great other than intrinsic motivation. It's rare that a waiter leaves the finished parties plates on the table until the last person is finished but that is the correct way and it was really nice not to have a table bussed while I was still eating. He kindly pointed out the added tip when he gave us the bill as well which we appreciated. The food was interesting and delicious. Each of us had a different fish dish plus oysters. We ate outside. There was a truck delivering to the restaurant for almost the entire time we were there with a pallet jack and stacked boxes and truck motor running . Is this a Boston thing ? The city values work THAT much? Maybe it was a one-off but annoying. We live close to NYC and never saw anything like that eating out on the street there. Tables are tiny and chairs metal so not ideal in that department. We didn't go inside to see the restaurant
Food was outstanding. Our family ordered 8 or 9 apps and small plates and shared and made for a fun night. Was very disappointed to see the mandatory 3% "service surcharge" tagged onto a mandatory 20% service gratuity fee. Feels like a massive bait and switch, vs charging what the food costs are they dont accurately account for those costs on the menu price but then slap fees on your bill. Great food, shady business.
Always my “go to” oyster bar in New England. Select is simply the best for oysters, ambiance and Gina at Bar is the best !!
Lovely bartender, phenomenal oysters! If you are only two people, they will sit you at the bar, but it's a fun, convivial experience.
Great server, excellent wine, and divine food. Oysters were wonderful, mussels were unusually prepared and excellent. Bouillabaisse was perfect. We ate outdoors on the street, and it was a a noisy city street. Weather was lovely.
Amazing food! Anchovies appetizer was worth coming back for alone, but everything we tried was top tier. The crisp, swordfish, and cocktails were all great. Highly recommend!
Wait staff was really helpful. Of course, the oysters were good. The swordfish was excellent, perfectly cooked and nice presentation. We had a great time.
They only had two bar seats left for reservations but it was a great experience! The food was outstanding!
Best creative fresh seafood in Boston Backbay. P Yellowtail hamachi crudo w passion fruit sauce & mussels with coconut oil sauce are a must. Plenty of seafood options besides oysters.

What a fantastic solo lunch at Select. James was my awesome host/server and was a delight. Oysters were exceptional- so fresh. I had the bouillabaisse and it was outstanding. Again - seafood so fresh. Chablis by the glass was also superb. And my Negroni to start was perfectly balanced. Love love love.
Went during happy hour and the food, service, and hospitality were perfect! Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing oysters, crudos, and sides. Great vibe.
Enjoyed Select oyster bar very much. Every item on the seafood tower was fantastic, and so were our wines.
When you don’t need to wait in lines in Neptune Oyster and still can get the same lobster roll, time to roll!!
