Shabu Zen Reviews
I'm a west coast Shabu purist who used to work in Japan and I have to admit this place is very Chinese hot pot inspired BUT they do it in a clean honest Japanese way. Bright flavors, great cuts of meat, and fresh veggies. Great happy vibe and the window seat is an idyllic contrast between clean cultured shabu and gritty Chinatown. Love this place!
First time having hotpot and it was great.
My favorite restaurant 🤤

Shabu Zen offers a great dining experience for friends and family with a wide assortment to choose from, including vegetarian options. The prime grade sirloin beef, seafood supreme, and chicken main course were delicious. Customers particularly enjoy the spicy tom yum soup base and peach sake. Shabu Zen, located in Chinatown Boston, is known for fresh ingredients, fast service, and a fun, cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal. The beef tongue and octopus appetizers are also highlighted as delicious choices. The restaurant may not be wheelchair accessible, so it's recommended to call ahead. Overall, it remains a fun place for a meal with loved ones, and many customers plan to return.
