Great food as always. Can not wait till the indoor seatings are open so we can enjoy the hot dishes reminiscing the childhood favorites of Shanghai. They are hit badly by the COVID, would love to support them more when the restaurant is fully open
I absolutely LOVE this place! The food is always consistent and the staff is so friendly.
The order took 20 minutes more than they said, the delivery woman was rude, the order was wrong and there were no condiments after I asked for extra.... no beuno
The dumplings here are disgusting, it tastes like something that turned bad. It made me lose the appetite totally that night.
The food was amazingly delicious. I ordered some vegan dishes and never regret it, it was so good. My party had other and they loved it, they are regular there, I can see why. If you do not wish to dine at the restaurant you can order pick up. All fresh and clean. Go for it
I just deliver to these places. Can't google figure that out how many people go to 15 to 30 Asian restaurants a day? Hey a delivery person! All I can say is the kitchen crew is friendly and respectful towards me. So I think people that carry themselves in that manner deserve a chance.
Uniquely Shanghai cuisine, a distinctly different Chinese preparation and taste. A favorite place for many years, then different chef, less favored since.

Obsessed with this place! It is genuinely authentic and has some of the best food in Boston.
As a Shanghainese, I highly recommend it!
This city has some amazing food but this is hands down the worst American Chinese food ever, so bland :-(
Last night I had shallow fried Tilapia , stirred fried diced chicken with green pepper, celery and carrots, Malantou (malantou is a veggie mixed with diced bean curd), soya bean sticks sautéed with sesame oil, carrots, celery and noodles mixed with a skillfully seasoned and cooked oil which is extremely delicious! I had lived in China before. In China, any local eatery you go to, the food is authentic and delicious! Even a regular rice box tastes delicious in China! However it’s hard to find good authentic Chinese food in USA . Most of the Chinese restaurants I went to whether in Boston Chinatown or in other cities in Massachusetts, the food is just terrible! So terrible that they actually tarnish the image of Chinese food !!! But Shanghai gate is different! It’s the real deal! I haven’t had such a good Chinese food for years! Thank you Shanghai gate!
Best combo of delicious food, reasonable prices and friendly service around! Adore the cheese rolls, lions head meatball and Yu Xiang pork with Chinese bread!
