Best bar on the planet. Best burgers on the planet. A modern day Cheers. There is genuinely nowhere better.

Horrendous service. They won't allow customers inside just to keep the illusion of a line and exclusivity.

Point of the grape dive, bars and salty. Always a good time, is it? The airy bug cheap drinks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Shannon Tavern is hands-down one of the best bars in South Boston!

Don’t let the “dive bar” label fool you—this place has an atmosphere that’s second to none. It’s family-owned and operated, and you can feel that personal touch the moment you walk in. The bartenders are incredibly friendly, and the patrons are just as welcoming. Whether you’re a regular or it’s your first time, you’ll feel right at home here.

It’s a spot with a lot of heart and zero pretension—a rare find these days. If you’re in the area and looking for a place with great vibes and even better people, The Shannon Tavern is it. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink (or two)!

By far the best family owned bar in Boston. The service was great the humor was even better and the dog made my day. Great spot with a welcoming vibe and wonderful locals. The prices were good too. Love this place!

Stopped in Boston on a cruise and found this lovely neighborhood spot on our walk back from Castle Island. Lots of locals, cheap prices, free bar snacks, pool table and they even changed the TVs so I could watch my Georgia Bulldogs. Definitely hope to return with my family again. Good people.

Classic dive bar on the south side of Boston. Jukebox, pool table, darts, and a friendly bartender
