This place was solidly fine. I appreciated how it wasn’t too loud inside, even though it was rather busy. Service was just ok. Our server and every other staff member we interacted with were very friendly, but it took forever to have our orders taken, or even just to receive water. Once we’d finally ordered, it took long enough for our food to come out that another (very kind) staff member thought we’d finished our meal and came to ask if we needed anything else (the implication being he was ready to bring our check to us).
The food was very tasty though, and my cocktail was delicious. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their meals. Prices for drinks are standard/a little below average for Boston, but I thought some of the food prices were quite expensive for what you got. The two Ahi tacos I got didn’t really fill me, and I ended up walking away hungry (which is a big statement from me, since I tend to get full very quickly).
Weirdly one thing that really stuck out to me was the bathroom. It was clean, but so run down looking that it was very much at odds with the rest of the restaurant. Two out of three sinks were not working. I could not wrap my brain around how dreary this bathroom looked in a place that probably brings in a bunch of money.
I really wanted to truly like this place, and really did enjoy my food, but there was just a lot that was off about the experience. Will I go back? I mean, it’s very conveniently located right next to the opera house, so chances are high I’ll end up here again some time when I see another show there. But will I go back if I don’t have a musical to see and limited time to eat beforehand? Probably not, to be honest.

Sip has a great vibe and the food was delicious. We got the guac to share and I had the seared tuna loin which as flavorful and inventive. My counterpart had the pear salad with chicken and she loved that too. We had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, which was too rich to finish, but was a sweet treat at the end of our meal. We also had dessert martinis-the espresso and pumpkin chai-which were both delicious. The service was great and I'd definitely recommend.

The food was very good and at a reasonable price point. It was close to the Citizen's Opera House. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. The service was impeccable I had the tuna and tempura shrimp bowl with avocado. My companion had the seared tuna loin. They also had creative cocktails.

Great location in DTX. Service is professional and courteous. Food is delicious (especially the chips and guacamole) really excellent cocktails. Prices are on par for similar restaurants in the area ($16-25 for entrees and $11-16 for cocktails).

I was really looking forward to going to Sip yesterday. The wine list is extensive and the food sounds great. When we arrived it was closed. It wasn't as if they closed early, they had not opened for the day at all. We still would like to try it but definitely will call before we make the commute.
I went there two weeks for dinner while we had plans to go see a movie. Fernando was amazing!

Been here a couple times but this time was very memorable to say the least. Having to go through recent dietary restrictions, they were able to cater to my needs and made sure that everything worked out. On top of that, the food was excellent and the wine was refreshing!

The food and service was good, no complaints. However, I was surprised when I showed up for my reservation that I was able to make for 7:30 that the restaurant closed at 8. I didn't think to check hours and assumed a restaurant surely wouldn't allow reservations be made 30 minutes before close. I felt horrible when I realized and we ended up rushing through our meal as to not inconvenience the staff and kitchen further. I would strongly recommend the restaurant not put people in such an uncomfortable position and stop accepting reservations at 7. In fact, I would encourage a lovely wine bar in the middle of Downtown Crossing be open past 8/9pm....

This was my first time at Sip and I sat at the bar. Upon sitting down I received a tall glass of water (not don’t automatically anymore). My bartender, Jordan was amazing. Her timing was great and she was attentive without being over the top. I got a charcuterie board and arancini. Both were delicious and I would definately come back and recommend it to others.
