This felt like the inside of a business casual hotel.

I had a fantastic time celebrating Valentine's Day altho i was 20mins late but they took care of us with pleasure - the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was wonderful. It was my first visit, and we ordered a variety of dishes. Our server was outstanding, and the busser who assisted them throughout the evening was friendly and supportive. Overall, I had a fantastic experience here.
Cant wait to go back.

Absolutely incredible experience at Sj’s! My boyfriend and I visited Boston for the weekend and decided to try out Sj’s, and what a great choice it was. The service was top tier, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Our waiter Pat was super friendly and very attentive. The floor manager (I believe) Jason was awesome and very charismatic! The bar was stunning as well. The drinks and food definitely met our expectations. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Boston. Can’t wait to come back and dine with them again!

Soo Min is a very friendly and attentive waitress. Wagyu steaks were delicious. Left the place with a rose for Valentine’s Day and a full belly. A Plus Ultra experience!

We went for dinner a week ago and had an excellent experience. The cold buckwheat noodles were fantastic. The matzo ball soup was delicious and not too salty. The burger was possibly the best burger my wife has eaten in Boston, and she loves burgers, so if you are a burger person, definitely a must. The Half-chicken was also terrific. Our cocktails were also very good: Skyeline, Pompelmo Fizz, SJ's Espresso Martini. Definitely a solid choice for a quality meal and great service!

The food is very innovative and delicious! Wish I could have tried all the appetizers. Highly recommend the fries and the persimmon salad.
Service was pretty slow for us towards the tail — after eating our meal, we sat around for 20-30m before someone came around. Very odd, but just writing it off as restaurant newness & new year

I wanted to like this place — it’s uber convenient being more or less right next to South Station, but unfortunately it was not a particularly pleasant experience. I hope this serves to be productive for the team, as I would like for them to succeed.

This place should be killing it with the after work crowd but the restaurant was largely empty, and in spite of that the service was quite slow. They needed to remake my wife’s pasta dish and as a result mine came out cold. I understand these things happen, and they were gracious enough to very quickly make me a new one. Were the food and service exceptional, I would easily forgive this minor lapse, mistakes happen.

However, I wouldn’t call the service particularly warm, and again it was a bit bizarre to be so inattentive when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. As for the food, the pasta was warm on the 2nd attempt and freshly prepared, however it certainly wasn’t anything special, especially for $30/ plate for a modest serving. I would expect something a bit more imaginative than a bland chain restaurant level pasta for the price point. By contrast, I recently visited a similar vibe new restaurant in Back Bay, at a similar if not slightly higher price point, and the food quality was miles better, and to no surprise the place was packed.

It was a slow wait for the bill, which revealed a 3% supplemental charge for no reason, gotta love it. I’m sure it’s the sort of thing that if you cause a fuss they’ll take it off but that’s just not my jam. I very likely won’t be returning given this experience so they can have my $3.

There’s definitely opportunity here but the team needs some help with both front and back of house or these guys will be gone within the year, given the uber competitive downtown restaurant scene.

I wish them the best, and hope this honest review will be helpful.

Overall really liked this place and would come back. Was a bit hit or miss...the hits were incredible the misses were forgettable. The Onion tarte tatin was absolutely incredible, would have ordered it twice. The Pork Rillettes Macarons were one of the most unique bites I've ever had really enjoyed it. Prawn toast was really well made and a tasty bite, wish there was more prawn but still an 8/10. The Lamb meatballs were well made just lacked some flavor nothing to try again but a decent bite. Their salad is really forgettable, super plain, weak dressing, not bad just fine. The burger is also solid, has potential but when it comes together it tasted a bit bland and the bun is really the wrong bun for that burger. It was juicy and perfectly cooked, just lacked flavor. Fries are crispy and fun to eat great taste. The Olive oil cake is awesome, super delicious flavors and textures, great dessert. The bar needs serious serious work, had probably the worst martini I have ever had in my life. Both of us took one sip and sent it back. Like legitimately awful.
