Came here on a cold November evening for dinner. Situated on one of the small streets in Chinatown sits Spicy world. There's a ton of different culture related art inside with some menu items pasted on the walls. The furniture however is a little bit outdated but if you're familiar with typical Chinese restaurants in the area, it won't be that big of a surprise. We got a couple different dishes including a dry pot made from their skewers. The waitress said it was pretty small but ended up being larger portions than we were expecting based on the number of skewers we chose. The overall dish was pretty good though the garlic flavor was a bit strong. The fried rice and the lo mein were meh, but my parents enjoyed them so not too much of a knock on the place. The spicy beef dish was pretty good too. It could've been a bit more flavorful but went well with rice. Overall the place is not too bad, I think we'd be back to try their spicy crab dish. We saw some of the other tables order it and it seemed pretty good.

The meat on the skewers was not very fresh and the waitress did not seem like she wanted to be there. The paintings on the wall were however interesting.

spicy world is my absolute favorite restaurant in boston i love the food especially the skewer pot and the dry pot are sooooo yummy but all of their food including all of the appetizers that i hav tried are absolutely AMAZING!!! everyone i have ever taken here have also fallen in love with this place and the service is also amazing the servers are always kind and attentive. the ambiance in the restaurant is very cozy and comforting. i'm not sure why some people are complaining that the food is too spicy when the restaurant is literally called spicy world and they offer a variety of levels of spiciness including 0-5. if you haven't tried this amazing restaurant i would highly HIGHLY recommend that you try it!!! we love spicy world

We had the Curry Chicken, 2 Kung Bao Chickens, Dumplings, and 2x white rice. My wife liked her Curry Chicken. My son and I ordered the Kung Bao Chicken. The menu has a spicy rating of 0-5 peppers to identify how hot/spicy you want your dish. "0" indicates no spice or no hot at all. Both my son and I told the waittress zero peppers. I even clarified, that I want 0 peppers, and added "I do not want mine spicy at all". The waitress nodded and left with our order. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time. But the food was unreasonably hot/spicy. My lips burned with each bite. And I needed to drink half a glass of water after each bite just to make the heat go away. I was coughing and choking. By bite #5, I was hurting. My stomach couldn't take anymore. And my son had given up after bite #2. Dear Hungry Panda: If you want to make your food super hot. That's fine. But you should warn your customers about it. If I order something not spicy, I don't mean, that I want 5,000 on the Scoville Scale, just because you think that "spicy" starts at 10,000. Dear potential customers: If you don't like super spicy food, I highly recommend you go elsewhere. The Hungry Panda is definitely not for you. And you might want to exercise caution here anyway since they just don't care about their customers. The dumplings had no flavor at all but ironically, it was a blessing since I needed something to offset the burn in my mouth. Very disappointing trip to Chinatown Boston. 1/10.

Went here and got the skewer pot and rice pudding. Most of the skewer was not that fresh and didn't have much flavor even with the spicy soup. The rice pudding was awful and had no taste at all, even the brown sugar was too sweet. The combination was bad.Additionally like other review she changed my tip but thankfully I took a photo of my receipt and requested a refund.
