Walked in and the place was fairly busy but was emptying out... by the time we finished, there was only 2 other people... why is that note worthy? It took over an hour to get CHICKEN. My so and I have both served in restaurants and I've worked at a number of hotel restaurants. The server thought it was a good idea to say that our dinner was dragging because of the chicken and the amount of time it takes to cook and then walked away... that's right chicken apparently takes over an hour. 1- how dumb do you think we are 2- I've worked at restaurants that would be considered lower and higher end, and at NONE of them would I NEVER go to a table that was waiting an extra ordinary amount of time empty handed... she could even bother to bring us more of the amuse (house made potato chips). Even if they started the chicken when the restaurant emptied out, we would have gotten it sooner. Someone screwed up and instead of owning it (a common theme at this langham, they made an excuse). At well over $100 for a shared app, 2 dinners and 2 drinks, it was disappointing and we had a 3rd join us... a spider was running around the bookcase next to our table.

We loved our starters and the drinks were on point. However our main was very, very salty. We did send it back and it was removed from our bill. Overall the service was excellent. It was just a slight miss on the food.

The Fed at The Langham, Boston offers a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonably good service. Our orders were made as requested and served in a timely manner.Full Review:Located at The Langham, Boston, The Fed offers a delightful dining experience with its nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonably good service. The restaurant lives up to its description as a British-inspired cocktail bar with a sophisticated New England twist. On our visit, we found the surrounding environment to be pleasant, reflecting the quality settings that The Langham is known for. The Fed, much like the hotel's Grana, provides an inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the lobster roll, burger, and steak frites, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. Our orders were made as requested and served in due time, showcasing the kitchen's quality and attention to detail. While we did encounter a minor issue with the hostess, the situation was quickly addressed and rectified by the management. The quality customer service we received in resolving this matter was commendable, and we appreciated the professionalism displayed by the staff.Overall, our experience at The Fed was enjoyable, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in Boston. The combination of a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonable service makes The Fed a worthy dining destination. 4/5.

I didn't like that an ingredient was of low quality.

The Fed is an amazing bar located inside the Langham Hotel in Boston. The bar itself has a great ambiance. The tables have comfortable seats and spacious seating. The tables are not on top of each other. The drink list is great, and the drink sizes are generous. It's worth stopping in for a drink. A++

Nice and elegant venue, one can say maybe a little upscale. Tastefully decorated, nice relaxing music in the background at a right volume. Maybe addition of some main courses would make the menu more rich. But otherwise all positive.

***NO CLASS, RACIST, TRASHY, UNPROFESSIONAL HOTEL MANAGERS — Do not go here. ***I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. I do not recommend you dine or stay here as their customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Where do I start... Their restaurant manager, Alex is extremely unprofessional and rude. He led my party of 6 and I to an empty table that had no place settings, no menus, no silverware. He then says, ”I will be right back, don't sit down yet until I wipe the table.” He then disappeared and never came back. We literally just stood there waiting in the middle of the restaurant. Finally, a host comes over and instead of assisting us he rudely asks if we have a reservation. I made sure he was aware that Alex had led us here, and said he would be back. However, Alex never came back which caused a lot of confusion within their staff. Instead of resolving the matter, he had us uncomfortably stand there in the middle of the restaurant and it caused a scene that could have easily been avoided. To make matters worse. Just as we were finally seated, the host comes back over for a final time and asks us if we have a reservation... Keep in mind, the restaurant was empty. No one was dining there at "The Fed" (A restaurant in their hotel). We then kindly asked, "Do we need a reservation?" The host then rudely snapped back and said, "No, I am just making sure." The interaction was very odd and uncomfortable. It was as though our presence alone was not welcome. This completely tainted our dining experience especially since Alex, the restaurant manager is the one who brought us to this specific table in the first place. Now I am not the one to bring up the race card, as I find it to be a cop out in most arguments. However the people I had with me were all of brown skin. We are all professional Bostonians meeting for business, dressed in business attire -- and still treated as though we were not human, not welcome, not allowed. Finally, when we thought things were beginning to run smoothly, the waiter forgot to bring one of our guest's meals. We have a party of 6, and all guests were served except for one. This would not be a big deal if they quickly rectified the situation, however her meal was not served until we had all finished eating. The waiter did not even apologize at first. I had to bring this to his attention that this was unacceptable. Had I not told him we were unhappy, he would have gladly carried on knowing our guest had to watch us all eat. After our troubling experience, I called to speak with the hotel manager. He is even more unprofessional than all of the hotel staff that he governs. When I told him about our experience and how the staff was rude, forgot one of our meals. His response was, "This isn't the establishment for you." Not only that but he did not believe anything I told him. The interaction with him was quite bizarre. I personally have worked in the restaurant industry for years, and when a customer tells you they didn't receive their meal -- you believe them. He proudly did not. In disbelief I asked him for his name so I could keep record of this awful experience, he refused to provide his name. People of Boston reading this, I don't advise you spend your hard-earned money in a place where the staff cannot provide their name. How can you trust someone who is nameless? How can you eat somewhere, where the people making your food are nameless? I am repulsed. If you are looking for a place to stay in Boston that is respectful, has class, and will treat you like a human being go to the Fairmont Copley or The Four Seasons. I will be letting everyone know on all social media accounts to avoid this place at all costs. For these prices and this type of low-class service? They won’t last long here in Boston... Maybe stay in London.

We were staying at the hotel on the club floor. My family and I were treated very disrespectfully by our server. After waiting 45 minutes for our drinks we ultimately had the maitre'd get our bill for us as the server was nowhere to be seen.

Great food, great drinks, nice ambience. I wouldn't call it a pub, more of a bar with food ?

We had oysters, crab claws, and steak frites. The seafood was outstanding as well as the steak frites which was cooked to perfection. Extra nice touch was when waiter brings the bottle of wine to the table when we ordered a 2nd glass. We will definitely be back.

We went to the Fed with a party of 5 to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday with family. Our table was ready on arrival. The host took our coats and set us up with still and sparkling water. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were spot on. I'd come back again.

Our server was extraordinarily slow and indifferent to our patronage from start to finish which was only part of my decision to remove the Langham from my daughter's wedding venue search. This customer service indifference and lack of teamwork approach should be taken into consideration before committing significant money to any function there. Every employee is an ambassador and a reflection (good or bad) of the organization they work for and the impression they leave can have negative consequences of which they may never know. Specifically speaking about our recent visit, I watched our drink order sit at the bar awaiting pick up and delivery for about 10 minutes. Since our server had not returned to our table I finally asked the bartender if we could get our drinks which he promptly brought over to our table. Even though out server was poor the bartender should have reacted sooner to the extended time our drinks sat directly in front of his work area. He should have informed the server they needed to be served. This was a missed opportunity for him to cover for our lazy and indifferent server. On a positive note regarding the bartender I did watch him perform for several minutes and could see he is an asset to the bar and attentive to the customers seated at the bar. But he needs to remember there are other customers in the place and if they are not being served it is his responsibility as a team member to address the customer service failure when he clearly knows about it. Your management team has clearly not done a good job of instilling in your employees a teamwork approach in customer service. Although I really wanted to have a great experience at your establishment I am grateful your employees gave me the only reason I needed to scratch the Langham off my wedding venue list - poor customer service and employee indifference. Probably the two best reasons not to patronize any establishment.

Beautiful place and the appetizers were good. Wasn't too busy but the server looked preoccupied and non attentive. Was looking forward to it, but disappointing overall. Brown bread is very good!!
